This May, we launched our new BBQ Menu, featuring two different BBQ sauces on unique burger builds. The secret behind the sauces? Our longtime suppliers ILLES Foods! 👏 As Shake Shack ramped up our limited time menu launches years ago, we turned to ILLES Foods (creators of our Honey Mustard and BBQ sauces!), who became our go-to partner for special sauce and shake development. Like Shake Shack, their culinary roots mean a strong commitment to innovation – their team constantly travels the world to find new flavors and learn from consumer trends firsthand. These flavor discoveries are then turned into guest favorites like the Korean BBQ Burger, the Christmas Cookie Shake, and more! ILLES Foods is family-owned and has remained in the direct Illes family for four generations. Shake Shack is officially OPEN in Pittsburgh! 🎉 After years of planning, we opened our doors this past weekend in Pittsburgh’s Strip District. We couldn’t be happier to join and support this hardworking community, and to welcome new guests—who matched our excitement on opening day tenfold. Happy Asian American Pacific Islander (AAPI) Heritage Month! We celebrated in our Home Office with the help of AARCH, our AAPI employee resource group. AARCH coordinated a special event featuring Danikkah Josan, founder of Taco Mahal, the 'Latindian' eatery based in NYC’s West Village. Danikkah sat down with AARCH members to share her inspiring story, aligning with this year's AAPI Heritage Month theme, Advancing Leaders Through Innovation. Home Office members listened to Danikkah share about Taco Mahal's 30+ year history and family-oriented mindset - notably, how the business came to life through her unique Indian and Latin household. Thank you to AARCH and our employee resource groups for coordinating these important Home Office celebrations, helping us #StandForSomethingGood. 

We are thrilled to share the expansion of our partnership with Neutral, the first certified carbon neutral food company in the U.S., to utilize their certified Carbon Neutral Whole Milk in over 90 locations nationwide to create our beloved hand-spun shakes.    Shake Shack first started its pilot with Neutral Milk at select locations in early 2022 and is now expanding to more locations across NY, CT, NH, RI, NJ and MA. By using Neutral Milk, to date, Shake Shack has already avoided more than 375 metric tons (MT) of CO2e, equivalent to 873,000 miles driven by an average gasoline-powered passenger vehicle (Source: US EPA Greenhouse Gas Equivalencies Calculator).

At Shake Shack, we aim to serve our communities in more ways than one! Our team members are a key part of executing these local initiatives - like Brianna, in San Diego, CA. Brianna has made strides to support San Diego’s education by hosting regular donation days for various schools in the area, giving a percentage of sales back to local, not-for-profit organizations. She even offers fun incentives for classrooms with the best event attendance, and for kids who participate in local science initiatives.
