    Today, we wrap up CommUnity Week, our annual global celebration of our #OneNewell team. This event features five days of programming that highlights our commitment to our employees and the communities where we operate. In support of this year’s theme, Creativity & Innovation, local teams around the world participated in activities like arts and crafts with recycled materials and Sharpie and Paper Mate products in Hammersmith, UK, floral bouquet arranging in Kalamazoo, MI, a hiking challenge in Guangzhou, China, a Newell product giveaway in Manchester, TN and a collaborative values canvas drawn using Sharpie® Creative Markers in Melbourne, Australia. Teams also served their communities through charitable drives and volunteering opportunities, like a book drive in McMinnville, TN, that focused on books about creativity, assembling creative snack kits for Children’s Hospital in Minneapolis, MN, and creativity bags for children undergoing cancer treatment in Gastonia, NC and an art activity with seniors in Bristol, UK. We are grateful for our employees’ enthusiasm and participation throughout CommUnity Week. Thank you for celebrating with us! 💙

    We’re halfway through CommUnity Week, our annual global event that celebrates the unity of our #OneNewell team and highlights our commitment to our communities. This year’s theme, Creativity & Innovation, is supported by events aiming to unlock the power of creativity and strengthen our community and those in which we operate. On Monday, employees were invited to participate in a centering “Creativity through Mindfulness” yoga and meditation session. On Tuesday, our Consumer & Shopper Insights team hosted a discussion about cultivating curiosity and developing habits that nurture creativity. Teams around the world also celebrated with local activations like decorating ceramics with Sharpie® creative markers in Spain, spending time with therapy dogs in Atlanta, GA, volunteering at a food bank near our Bristol, U.K. location, and more.     Second Harvest Food Bank of East Tennessee is leading the community in the fight to end hunger, so it was no surprise that our Maryville, TN employees selected the organization to receive their second Local Impact Grant in 2023. The Newell Brands Charitable Foundation grant supported the Food for Kids (FFK) program, which serves nearly 14,000 students at 292 public schools in their 18-county service area. Through FFK, the organization discreetly provides bags of food on Fridays to children who have an unstable food source at home over the weekends. Teachers have witnessed a positive change in the students who participate in FFK. One teacher said, “A second grader jumped two levels in reading after starting the program. She could sit and concentrate on sounding out words. Her parents and I think this program profoundly influenced this achievement. It’s like you could see her switch from survival mode to thriving.” In addition to the monetary support in 2020 and 2023, our employees have volunteered to pack bags, participate in food drives and sort donations for the FFK program. The Newell Brands Charitable Foundation is proud to support Second Harvest Food Bank of East Tennessee and its work to remove the barrier to nutritious food so children can focus on what is most important—learning.     At Newell Brands, the safety and wellbeing of our employees is our number one priority. Over the past year, we maintained the programs that have allowed us to achieve a world-class safety record while deepening our training programs to address the safety risks and opportunities in our frontline locations.  Our Safety team recently conducted a campaign called Preventing Slips, Trips, and Falls to support our commitment to our goal of zero injuries, zero unsafe conditions, and zero unsafe behaviors. The effort aimed to empower employees to spot and avoid potential risks, promote a culture of reporting, and take ownership of their actions at work and beyond. Since first introducing our new corporate strategy at last year’s conference, we have made significant progress on several initiatives supporting our strategic choices, including implementing new corporate values that promote a high-performance and accountable culture, adopting a new, more efficient operating model aligned to the strategy, and continuing our simplification agenda.     Sunlight Children's Services, located near our Wichita, KS location, provides resources and facilities that support and protect abused and neglected children and their families. With a 2023 Local Impact Grant from the Newell Brands Charitable Foundation, they have provided the children in their emergency shelter with essential items for their stay, including a to-go bag filled with clothing, a hygiene kit, snacks, and an activity upon discharge. In 2023, the number of children Sunlight cared for increased by 33 percent, significantly depleting their clothing and to-go bag supplies. With the help of the grant, 75 children and counting have new clothing and essentials for their next placement. Bryn Murphy, CEO of Sunlight Children’s Services, shared, “Sunlight is so thankful to be a recipient of the Local Impact Grant, and we have provided needed items to the children we serve because of it! The items have been a huge help in getting the children we serve the appropriate size of clothing and items that they like to wear. Providing them with new items in a time of need gives them one less thing to worry about and helps them feel appreciated!” Thank you to Sunlight Children’s Services for your positive impact on children in the Wichita area.     We’re proud to spotlight one of our 2023 Local Impact Grant recipients! The Drake House, located near our Atlanta, GA headquarters, empowers women and their children experiencing homelessness to achieve economic independence and long-term stability. With the support of a grant from the Newell Brands Charitable Foundation, they purchased a stackable washer and dryer for their new Resource Center. Families can access vital amenities at the Resource Center, like a laundry room and groceries. The Drake House recognizes that having access to clean clothes is not just a matter of hygiene but also contributes to an individual’s sense of self-worth and confidence. When a child goes without clean laundry, it significantly impacts their mental health and social encounters. The Drake House provides this free service, helping families meet their basic needs and boosting children’s self-esteem. The Newell Brands Charitable Foundation is honored to support The Drake House and its efforts to keep single mothers and their children united under one roof as they work toward self-sufficiency.     Join us in welcoming our 2024 Internship Class! This year, 46 students from 25 colleges across the U.S. and Canada will join us for Newell Brands’ Career Acceleration and Mentorship Program (CAMP). Each intern will have a CAMP project – an initiative they will own for twelve weeks and present to company leaders at the end of the program. Every intern will have a manager and mentor to support them throughout their time at Newell and opportunities to contribute to significant projects, participate in volunteer events and virtual and in-person networking activities, and gain meaningful experience. We are excited to see all that our interns contribute this year! Welcome to the team! #OneNewell #NewellInterns
