One thing every human has in common is that we all have to figure out our authentic selves and where/how we fit in the world. For kids and teens, this process can feel pretty overwhelming — and it can sometimes lead to challenging emotions and behaviors. Given the unique experiences that LGBTQ+ and BIPOC kids have, the overwhelm can feel even more intense. Having the right support can play a huge role in a child's overall well-being as they navigate their way. Brightline has two coaching programs dedicated to empowering LGBTQ+ and BIPOC kids between the ages of 6–17. Each uses evidence-based strategies to help kids explore their racial, cultural, gender, and sexual identities. Parents can choose an age-appropriate program to help their child learn the skills that will help them embrace their unique identity while learning the skills to cope with everyday challenges they may face. Pride month is here! It's a perfect time to remind families that Brightline prioritizes culturally-competent and affirming care for LGBTQ+ kids and teens. Why is this so important to us? Because according to The Trevor Project, 56% of LGBTQ+ youth who sought mental health care in the last year couldn't find it. At Brightline, your child will find a safe space to explore their identity and the unwavering support they need so your whole family can thrive. #PRIDE #LGBTQ+ #YouthMentalHealth #Identity

Mental Health Awareness Month is about moving from awareness to action this year. As leaders in youth behavioral health, we’re uniting in our shared commitment to taking action on youth mental health—not just one month a year—but 365 days a year. This year's Mental Health Action Day theme, 'Dedicate One Hour to Connection,' underscores a simple truth: feeling connected to, seen, and understood by a trusted adult is one of the most potent strategies for supporting youth mental health. Strong relationships are proven to improve youth well-being, and those same relationships enable early intervention, which is vital for mitigating the downstream impacts on unmet mental health needs. For youth and the caring adults in their ecosystem alike, it’s important to remember it's normal to experience mental health challenges and okay to talk about the need for support in overcoming those challenges. So, take a moment to connect today. Check-in on a student, friend, or colleague. And check in with yourself. But, beyond the month and moment, remember this conversation about mental health going on all year long and remind each other that no one has to face their struggles alone. Together, we can make a difference in the lives of young people and create a brighter future for all. 💙 Backpack Healthcare BeMe Health Bend Health Brightline Health Cartwheel Clarity Pediatrics Daybreak Health Equip Health Hazel Health Little Otter Health

Your child’s brain is as much a part of their body as an elbow or a leg. You wouldn’t let a wound go untreated — and there’s no shame in helping kids name and manage their big emotions, struggles, and issues. The term “mental health” is not bad and the subject shouldn’t be taboo. But the stigma is real. And if that stigma has been hard for your family to release, watch this quick video as Kelly Sisler, Brightline Therapist, breaks down how Brightline can help. https://lnkd.in/gCMVHBXP #MentalHealth #MentalHealthAwareness #MentalHealthAwarenessMonth #YouthMentalHealth
