Healthy relationships communicate effectively and respectfully; are trusting and honest; and have equity among finances, how each partner’s personal time is spent, and decisions that impact both parties in the relationship. These positive relationships help us feel like we belong and aid as a buffer against stress. They also promote healing, healthier behaviors, and increase our overall longevity. Yesterday, Residential and Community Youth participated in an empowerment workshop where they learned tools for establishing and communicating their personal boundaries within intimate and close relationships. Youth also learned about the difference between healthy and toxic relations and ways identify whether a relationship is healthy, unhealthy, or toxic. Workshops such as this can be a catalyst for change in a young person’s life. Our Outreach Team understands this. That’s why they intentionally seek out community partners such as Diamond Diva Empowerment Foundation, who share their tools for success with others and enrich our community. Thank you to all of our youth who participated in yesterday’s empowerment workshop, our dedicated Outreach Case Managers, and our community partner Diamond Diva Empowerment Foundation. #covlove
