Robotics Application Engineer - SEE FULL JOB DESCRIPTION ON ZIP RECRUITER Duties: · Support development in PLC, HMI, & standalone SCADA applications to interface with robotic skids. · Understanding of palletizing, pick & place & machine tending operations. · Safety integration & space planning for robotics operations. · Develop documentation such as functional specifications, design documentation & interface agreements. · Develop dynamic simulation models that describe system performance & reliability in its application environment. · Extract useful results from simulation to understand & improve simulation predictability of human & robot kinematic/dynamic responses. · Build, modify & run simulations using software such as RobotDK, RobotGuide or RobotStudio. · Support sales & demo applications with principal engineer. · Assist engineers with design, configuration, & robotic systems applications. · Assist technicians & engineers with robotic cell start-up & commissioning efforts. · Utilize & gain an understanding of good software practices, unit testing, verification, & experimental validation to ensure high quality & trustworthy results. · Conduct research to determine the parameters of a robotic application. · Perform integration testing under guidance of Senior Technical Leads. · Identify the proper simulation process & develop new methods, to achieve predictive physics-based simulations. · Incorporate existing robotic industry standard analysis methods. · Document control system & equipment configuration changes. Qualifications: · Field technical background. · Pursuing 2/4 degree or related academic certification. · Prior military experience is a plus. Skills and Abilities: Platform knowledge (ABB, FANUC, KUKA, Universal, Motoman). Ability to differentiate & utilize both system & subsystem analysis techniques to evaluate complex interactions between a human and robot. AutoCAD or AutoCAD electrical; Solidworks and/or AutoCAD inventor. Excellent communication (verbal & written) & presentation skills. Ability to work with clients on-site & remotely. Physical Requirements: · Requires constant standing and moving 8-12 hours per day. · Must be able to lift and carry up to 75 lbs; push/pull up to 15 lbs. · Must be able to bend, stoop, squat & kneel & reach overhead.
