We're here for it.

Kerry Washington is no stranger to a good bob hairstyle. In fact, she’s a vet. She’s worn everything from jellyfish cuts to chic side-part lobs to her signature wavy bob. Over the years, she’s sported plenty of bang hairstyles too, depending on how edgy she and her team are feeling. Her favorite ones seem to be choppy and wispy looks, though she's also done side swoops grazed over her eyes and fierce blunt fringes.

On June 9, Washington was out on the town supporting her NFL Player-turned-actor-and-filmmaker husband, Nnamdi Asomugha, at his premiere during the 2024 Tribeca Festival. Her full look screamed hot arm candy for her husband’s big night. Though her firetruck red outfit was a showstopper, the real star of the evening were her new wispy bangs.

She wore her usual bob in soft waves, which married with the flirtatiousness of the bangs and worked perfectly for Washington’s vibe of the evening. Wispy bangs are more textured, soft, and feathery compared to straight-across ones (they’re also lower maintenance!). The ends look slightly bumped for a more voluminous look. Washington’s hairstylist, Takisha Sturdivant-Drew, is responsible for helping the iconic actor channel her inner soft girl. She calls the look a nod to the '70s. “@kerrywashington is giving sex in the city in red with this '70s bouncy bob hairstyle,” she wrote in her Instagram caption.

Washington coined her outfit of the evening the “‘Proud Wifey’ fit" and it was put together by fashion stylist, Rob Zangardi who has styled Rihanna and Jennifer Lopez. She wore a red dress straight from Sportmax’s runway that had bold shoulder padding and red iridescent sequin detailing. The dress was styled with a red mule pump, red nails, and chunky jewelry. Washington wore a super soft glam, with her blush pink lips adding some depth to the fully red ensemble.
