Bro i literally can NOT stop thinking about the "Phineas and ferb get busted" episode. Like Perry has SEEN SOME SHIT. Severely punished, locked up, chained, made to work, all creativity squeezed out of them, and at the end they don't even wanna leave. They only snapped out of it bc of Candace. I feel like perry was close to that point when phineas and ferb adopted him
in reference to this post (tw for abuse)
I KNOW RIGHT revenblue made the connection between the episode and squirt bottles and I was like WAIT A FUCKING SECOND so naturally I had to go rewatch the episode under that lens and oh my god it makes the episode so much harder to watch 0_0
I didn’t even think about the fact that they didn’t want to leave, and how that could be a reference to Perry’s past, too. I wouldn’t be surprised if when OWCA basically tore him apart to turn him into their idea of a “perfect soldier,” Perry just accepted that this was how it had to be. I’ve always kinda headcanoned that for the first few days after he was adopted, he was wary of his new family and it took a lil while to warm up to them purely because it wasn’t what he was used to, and that just convinces me more. He wanted to stay with OWCA because it was what he knew, and he didn’t want anything to do with this host family. OWCA had made it very clear that he wasn’t to get attached to them, and he wasn’t worried about that because he’s an agent, and agents don’t get attached. idk if that train of thought makes sense because like words are hard but basically Perry is babie and didn’t deserve what OWCA put him through
