Ok so, this is just something short and silly I came up with last night and I wanted to show you it…

Event: movie night

Location: the family room at the Doofenshmirtz Evil Incorporated

(Heinz is in between Vanessa and Perry)

(Norm is on the floor at the side of the couch)

Heinz: *eyes closed* *resting against the couch*

Vanessa: *leans to the side* *whispers* Uncle Perry, can you pass the popcorn?

Perry: …

Vanessa: …

Heinz: *smirking* *opens his eyes* Did you just call Perry the Platypus, ‘Uncle Perry’?

Vanessa: *shocked* dad?! I thought you were asleep??

Heinz: *still smirking* just resting my eyes…

Norm: if Perry the Platypus is sis’ uncle does that make him my uncle?

Heinz: no Norm. That doesn’t make-

*Heinz pauses*

*Heinz looks at Vanessa and smirks*

Heinz: of course it does Norm. Isn’t that right Vanessa?

Vanessa: *grumbling* shut up dad

Heinz: what do you think Perry the Platypus? You just gained a new niece and robot nephew

Heinz: …

Heinz: Perry?

Perry: *perry the platypus has stopped working*

weird question but do you guys refer to everyone’s favorite evil scientist as Heinz or Doofenshmirtz? I’m just wondering what the popular name is.

I love Night of the Living Pharmacists so much as it is, and I genuinely don’t think it could have been better, but I love thinking about the different ways it could have gone. Perry and Candace were both at Doofenshmirtz Evil Incorporated when the whole thing started, but I doubt either of them knew that — Candace never knows where Perry is, and if Perry knew she was there, he would have been just as concerned with getting to the girls’ movie night as Doofenshmirtz was. What if Perry ran into the girls’ room instead of the closet with Doofenshmirtz? He would have reverted to mindless pet mode when he saw Candace, but Vanessa wouldn’t know why he was doing that, and she’d definitely expect him to help save them. Perry, Candace, and Vanessa could have all worked side-by-side, fending off zombie pharmacists with plungers. There are so many directions that could have gone in. It’s like a fanfic series in the making.

I’m rewatching Cheers for Fears, and Doofenshmirtz invents an inator that’s supposed to internalize Perry’s deepest fears or something like that. Nothing happens and Perry hands him a business card that says “Fearless” which like haha funny badass secret agent but you know what would have been great? If Phineas and Ferb appeared, and Doofenshmirtz just stared at them like “Dude, you’re afraid of a bunch of kids?” but Perry’s biggest fear is the boys finding out he’s a secret agent

Danville may be loosening its coronavirus safeguards, but residents still have to wear a mask when they leave the house. Unfortunately, Doofenshmirtz’s mask doesn’t really fit…

You know what makes me sad is that even after all Doofenshmirtz’s tragic backstories — from his parents not showing up for his birth to being disowned and literally raised by ocelots — Doofenshmirtz still stays in contact with his family. He still plans his mother’s birthday party with Roger. He still gets his father gifts. His mother still forces him (via phone call) to have golf days with his brother. It genuinely breaks my heart that his family literally tricked him into taking a boat out of the country and he still lets them in his life.

I finally finished “Lost in Danville,” a fic about Doofenshmirtz turning Perry human! It’s just under 10k words, and I posted it on AO3 and Wattpad. Both accounts are under the name KittyHazelnut if anyone wants to check it out :)

Fanfic concept: Someone tries to assassinate Roger Doofenshmirtz. Naturally, OWCA assumes it’s Heinz Doofenshmirtz, because he’s tried to sabotage his brother’s mayorial campaign numerous times, so Monogram sends Perry to arrest him. What they don’t realize is that Doofenshmirtz is too busy trying to build some stupid, useless inator to have targeted his brother, and he actually had no idea it even happened (but, obviously, when he finds out, he’s livid — no one gets to kill Roger until Doofenshmirtz has finally had the chance to embarrass him!).

Perry’s put on a protective detail because he’s the best agent OWCA’s got and they can’t go halfway on this, but they don’t have an agent to watch Doof while Perry’s watching Roger, so they reluctantly put him in charge of watching both Doofenshmirtzes at the same time.

Basically, that means that while everyone else is trying to figure out who tried to kill Roger, Perry’s stuck watching all the doors and keeping Roger away from all windows, and, at the same time, listening to the two brothers bickering — which, admittedly, comes mostly from Heinz. That’s why Roger is very, very confused when Perry constantly sides with Heinz, and does the bare minimum to keep Roger comfortable while someone’s trying to murder him.

And, obviously, it ends with an emotional, touching scene where the Doofenshmirtzes make up, because who doesn’t like a happy ending?

I literally love Perry the Platypus like sometimes he’s a badass secret agent who doesn’t take shit from anybody and is very insistent that he works alone and he defeats evil by himself and sometimes he’s dressing up in a bear costume to scare Vanessa and her friends or doing trust falls with his nemesis and there is no in between
