Smiths celebrates Spring! 🌸 Our women@work network at John Crane in Japan recently celebrated Hanami, Japan’s traditional spring event where people admire the blooming cherry blossom trees. Organised by the group chapter’s leads, Maho Arai, Yoko Sekiya and Yuki Iida, a group of our Japanese colleagues enjoyed the beauty of the Sakura trees around the site during their lunchtime! #ProudToBeSmiths

We are excited to share that Smiths Detection has partnered with University of Exeter to provide funding for a unique PhD programme. The research will be on understanding bespoke ‘human-focused’ solutions that improve the performance of our screeners. Students on the programme will also be able to undertake work experience opportunities during their degrees as well as joint secondment opportunities for Smiths Detection and University of Exeter employees.
