Today, we shared our Q3 trading update for the fiscal year 2024.   We posted +7.7% organic revenue growth for the quarter, with all four of our businesses, John Crane, Smiths Detection, Flex-Tek and Smiths Interconnect contributing to this performance. This builds on the record growth we achieved in the same period last year and gives us year-to-date organic revenue growth of +5.2%. Q3 this year benefited from four extra trading days and adjusting for this, the Q3 organic growth on a comparable basis was +6.1% (YTD 4.6%.)   We are also reaffirming our FY2024 guidance today of full-year organic revenue growth of 4-6%, with continued margin expansion.   Read more on our trading update here: https://lnkd.in/eBK8G9Gh   #ProudToBeSmiths

The Smiths Group Foundation represents everything we are proud of at Smiths. A charitable foundation committing an initial £10m of funding to engineering-related good causes, nominated by our colleagues.   The recipients of funding from the Foundation are making impactful changes to communities around the globe. To celebrate these organisations and all the amazing work they do, we are kickstarting a series of videos showcasing their work.   The first in our series is Flint Global Partners – nominated by Brandon Pruett – who are transforming lives for people in local Masai Communities in Tanzania by working with local female entrepreneurs to install and maintain biodigesters for cleaner renewable energy to heat homes, provide light and cook food. The technology reduces reliance on firewood which is dangerous to gather and burn in homes, as well as being environmentally damaging.   Flint is making an incredible impact and its wider activities have already reached 28,000 people with a goal to bring 500,000 people out of poverty by 2033. Yesterday, we celebrated Smiths Day around our network, spending the day celebrating our culture and colleagues, as well as finding opportunities to help support local communities and causes that are important to our people and our sites.   Amongst the celebrations, our team in Pune, India partnered with @Naam Foundation to organise a tree plantation drive, planting around 200 saplings along the bank of the Khadakwasla lake, which is main source of water for the city.   Smiths India has also gone an extra step to support its communities and is discontinuing the use of single use plastic bottles in its offices and is adopting a BYOB policy.   See some photos from a fantastic day below and watch this space for more on our celebrations later in the week! Happy Smiths Day! Today, colleagues around the world are celebrating everything that makes Smiths, our culture, and the communities we serve so special.   Last year on Smiths Day, we proudly announced the launch of our Smiths Group Foundation – a charitable foundation committing an initial £10m of funding to engineering-related good causes, nominated by our colleagues.   Today, we welcomed STEMAZING and Just a Drop, who have received funding from the Foundation, to our London HQ to meet colleagues and tell us about the projects which the grants will support, from building sand dams for clean water in Kenya, to teaching STEM subjects in schools across the globe.   Alongside welcoming our special guests at our London HQ, colleagues are spending time making cards for unwell children with Cards for Bravery, and de-stressing with puppy therapy!   Celebrations will also be taking place across the network - watch this space for some of the highlights later this week…   #ProudToBeSmiths #SmithsGroupFoundation

Our Accelerate Leadership Development programme has continued its international roll out with the latest cohort participating at our new London HQ. Colleagues from across our network took part in the collaborative and engaging three day training workshop covering a range of topics including how to unlock innovation, leading change, creating high-performing teams and leadership resilience. Participants heard from CEO Roland Carter and Chief People Officer Vera Parker, and received a crash course in Smiths Excellence System - our in-house Lean system - from our SES Academy Lead, Chrystelle Caudron - Fanjeaux. The safety, health and well-being of our people is our number one priority, which is why we embed a strong safety culture at every Smiths site worldwide.
