📢Calling women in AI and digital leadership positions in UK health and care 📢   In the ever-evolving landscape of healthcare and digital innovation, the role of women in leadership positions in artificial intelligence (AI) and digital technologies is crucial. Despite increasing recognition of the importance of a diverse workforce, representation of women in leadership positions within AI and digital initiatives in health and care remains a notable challenge, highlighting the need for concerted efforts to optimise gender diversity and inclusivity in these key sectors.   Centre for Population Health has been commissioned by Health Innovation Kent Surrey Sussex to help us better understand and address this through two main lenses: ➡️ Understanding better the scale and nature of the issue ➡️ Understanding options than can be taken to address this going forwards – including learning from what has already been tried   The findings of this work will be published in report later this year.   If you are a woman working in this area, please help by completing this 10-minute survey and sharing widely with your networks: https://lnkd.in/etUJBu6c

Yesterday marked the first opportunity for all three years of our NIA Fellows to come together since the 2024 cohort enrolled in the programme. This special event was designed to provide our Fellows with insights from top experts across various fields and foster meaningful discussions on pivotal topics related to their innovations.   A special thank you to our guest speakers who were instrumental in making this event a tremendous success:   Nick Clarke, Head of Programmes (Delivery) at Health Innovation East, Emma Brown, Head of Innovation, Bedfordshire, Luton and Milton Keynes Integrated Care System and Diana Hodgins, Founder and CEO, Gait Smart who lead the morning sessions all about 'Implementation'. Our Fellows were able to gain expertise insights and have come away with good food for thought.   The afternoon session was opened by Helen Balsdon RN, Chief Nursing Information Officer at NHS England who gave us an insightful presentation on her vision for the Chief Nursing Information Officer role across the NHS and how our Fellows can innovate in collaboration with nurses. We look forward to working with Helen and her team over the next year as we strengthen the ties between our programmes. New innovator funding webinar today at 10am! As part of the NI Health and Life Sciences Launchpad, UK registered micro and small businesses can apply for a share of up to £1.5 million for projects that grow their innovation activities in the life and health sciences cluster in Northern Ireland. This “New Innovator” funding is for early-stage businesses to develop highly innovative ideas that have a clear route to commercialisation and business growth. Micro and small businesses new to Innovate UK funding support will be invited to apply for up to £50,000 of grant funding for their projects. 🌟 Delighted to share that our co-founder, Benyamin Deldar, has been selected as a Fellow for the NHS Innovation Accelerator 2024.🙌 There are twelve new Fellows, each with a groundbreaking solution to tackle some of the most critical challenges in healthcare today. These solutions include an interactive, personalised digital programme -  in multiple languages -  that empowers individuals with long-term conditions to better manage their health, and a digital health app that provides personalised kidney-specific content and professional support for chronic kidney disease patients. Since its launch, the NHS Innovation Accelerator Programme has done great things. It has supported nearly one hundred innovators to test if their ideas can be successfully adopted by and across the NHS, with the potential to transform the way the NHS delivers healthcare today - and for future generations.
