“Vlad, it has come to my attention that our manner of speech has come to be perceived as strange and old timey once again. We both know what that means.”
“Heavens sake, do we have to? I hate it so.”
“Unfortunately so old chum. I despise it just as you do, but I’m afraid that if we are to remain undetected amongst the mortals we have little say in the matter.”

Liberals love to be like “why are there Nazis around we used to fight nazis” meanwhile America was actually pretty chill with the holocaust until those evil Japanese attacked us
The US has extremely close ties with Nazi Germany. The Hindenberg was a Nazi airship! It was a diplomatic line between the countries. We were actively vilifying people in Hollywood speaking out against Hitler and the Reich! Many of whom went on to be tried by McCarthyists during the Red Scare!
Charlie Chaplin made the Great Dictator in 1940 where he portrayed a satirized version of Hitler, and was booed at the end when he stared directly into the camera and had a 5 minute monologue about how Fascism and Nazis are bad.
The US LOVED those Nazi bastards and would have sooner joined the Axis if it weren't for how much more we hated the Japanese.
American Racism was more powerful than American Facism
It’s also worth noting that after WW2 the US military granted immunity to the Japanese physicians who worked in the infamous Unit 731 in order to gain access to the reaserch done there. Japanese physicians who conducted experiments on American troops faced legal punishment, but those who did them on Korean and Chinese civilians were let off the hook.
America’s desire to gain more military might with which they can subjegate the rest of the world is more powerful than their racism. But that’s not really true, American Fascism, Racism, and the US Military are all deeply intertwined, they all influence all of the shit the US does, you can’t really seperate them like that.
So.
Re: tumblr bans of transfemmes.
Let's ignore PhotoMatt for a moment. Manbaby tech CEO doubling down on a stupid decision and making himself look like more of an ass doing so is not a new phenomena.
Tumblr has consistently said, in both public statements and leaked internal communication, that they're essentially running a skeleton crew.
They keep saying that they don't have the resources to moderate, manually review posts, have any kind of appeal process, or anything. So, as people have widely received communications about, they seemed to have automated a significant portion of the moderation to operate solely on the quantity of reports (probably with a basic filter, eg quantity of reports regarding a certain post, within a certain timeframe) to automatically ban or shadowban accounts.
And so, they wipe their hands, both to the users, the public, and their own consciousness, and go about their automated operations.
All of this is likely true. Tumblr, at this point, is essentially abandonware internally, a kind of weird vanity project/dumpster ground for server infrastructure for Automattic. Likely, they don't want the bad press of "shutting down" fully. Or maybe the trickle of revenue they get here just barely exceeds operating costs, so why not keep it around?
Whatever is the case, the bans are a result of an automated process working in the background. I'm giving them some benefit of the doubt here, of course, we can't know anything for certain- but it seems like the individual bans are not based on any specific, manual action.
And that doesn't fucking excuse anything.
Because at some point, multiple people sat down at tumblr, and decided how to cut costs.
And they decided that the bare minimum of report abuse prevention was one of the first things on the chopping block.
Before the boops. Before GUI reconfigures.
They decided to cut something that is necessary to manage online communities.
They decided to cut something that ensures any targeted group will have any kind of community online.
And then, after all of that, the only manual intervention is doubling down on the shitty decisions that the automated systems make, and plucking reasons out of their ass for why they were the right decisions all along.
It's pure silicon valley brain. Blame the computer often and always. Use it to shield the active decisions you made when designing the computer that way. Treat it as a fact of life as opposed to something they actively made decisions for.
Is tumblr staff hitting the banhammer on each transfemme one by one? No.
Is tumblr staff deliberately crafting a system that allows TERFs and other conservative bigots to get rid of the "undesirables" for them? Yup. But they sure as hell are trying to not say the quiet part out loud. If they can always point the finger somewhere else, to the advertisers, to the automated systems, to the TERFs, then they can always have juuusssttt enough plausible deniability.
But being the "queerest place on the internet" requires concious acknowledgement that queer people will be targets of harassment, and you will have to protect against that.
Side note, this is why I do try to keep my blog at least somewhat SFW. Its one of the main reasons why I choose not to reblog all of the posts I'm tagged in- if the post is overtly NSFW, I've probably seen it, appreciated it, and consciously decided my level of interaction with it mostly based on how "tumblr friendly" it is. Is that bowing down to them? A little. It's also my choice. I value the community I have here. The pushes that y'all have given me gave me the strength to transition, and honestly gives me a lot of motivation to research HRT biology as much as I can, among many other things.
Yeah, I post pictures that are clearly meant to be found attractive in ways that are generally not socially acceptable , but never actual NSFW. I would like to think that I'm pretty safe from bans, but hey. Who knows. I don't want to lose my follower base, and the community around it.
And yeah, I'm gonna annoyingly remind you of the other places to find me, make sure to check my pin. If you don't know where to go, just find me on reddit and go from there, I'll post about it if anything happens.
It’s legitimately mind boggling that the moderation on this site is so poor that we’d likely be better off without it. Porn bots run rampant and all the moderation tools seem good for is allowing TERF’s and other fuckwits to ban whoever the fuck they want. I do not think that the moderation tools on this site have ever helped literally anybody. I see mutuals posting about how they’re genuinely afraid of being randomly banned and it breaks my heart. Tumblr needs to get fucking sued again yesterday.
You know, with how strongly so many on Tumblr have reacted to the possibility of TikTok bans, I would have thought that the fact that both sides of Australian politics are planning to ban all social media for everyone under 16 would be something somebody would have at least mentioned:
Like, let us not forget that while social media can cause harm, it’s also an important space for lots of kids to find information and support, especially queer kids, and/or kids with abusive families (among others).
Also, I feel like I shouldn’t need to explain why “Think of the Children!” rhetoric isn’t trustworthy, and why being required to submit your ID to corporations that make their money by selling data should be avoided at all costs. With the ammout of Australians who have been impacted by massive data breaches and leaks, the idea of being made to put even more of our personal information online is not an enticing one.

🎶✨when you get this, put 5 songs you actually listen to, then publish. Send this ask to 10 of your favorite followers/mutuals (negotiable, dont feel pressured or anything lol)✨🎶
Uhhh, I’m an EDM enjoyer, so my taste in music is kinda fucked. I will try to provide some variety though:
1. Chrysalis by purity://filter (From the imago EP):
This is purity://filter’s most popular track, and for good reason. It’s hard to find a word that I feel describes this track. I looked pretty hard for a word and I feel like superlunary kinda describes this track (or at least how it feels to me).
2. Necro Culture Vulture by Machine Girl (From The Ugly Art):
Time for some good ole fashioned tonal whiplash! This is a Digital Hardcore track. This track is one of my favourites because I not only saw it performed live at Machine Girl’s Sydney show, but I was in the pit as Matt (the main force behind Machine Girl) was moving around the pit and was practically right next to me for the entire track.
I experienced collective effervescence to this song.
3. weird circle by Rory in early 20s (Single):
This track has such a weird vibe (in a good way). The way it sounds (especially in the beginning) kinda makes me think of old school pulpy sci-fi horror, alien invasion kinda stuff. Does that make sense or am I weird for that?
4: Delusional Standards by Filmmaker (From Motion Pictures Regime):
This was a hard pick, there’s a lot of good stuff on Motion Pictures Regime, and I really wanted a track that captured Filmmakers weird distinctive vibe, which almost kinda feels darkly sexy (I once heard somebody describe it as scary sex dungeon music). I’m not sure if this track is the best pick for that, but it is one of my favourites, so…
Lastly, it feels like It would be a bit of a letdown to say that I like EDM and then simply not include a certified NEURONE ACTIVATOR!!! on this list. And so, I present a song that I haven’t listened to in quite a while but that certainly does fill that NEURONE ACTIVATOR!!! niche, here we go:
5: Fifth Grade by Goreshit (From Tomboyish Love for Soda Pop and Apple Sweets (Digipak) ):
This track almost fucking wiped me the fuck out the first time I heard it. It starts off as just a sample from Azumanga Daioh, and then you hear the fucking Amen Break starting to come in, and then it stops, right before everything goes to SHIT! It’s fucking nuts, the first time I heard this track I felt my fucking pupils dilate as I was blasted by pure auditory stimuli. It feels like Goreshit made this track for the sake of self parody, it’s absurd, I laughed while listening to this for the first time. It’s funny as fuck to slip into other peoples playlists and just watch as confusion turns to panic.
Is it a good track? Probably not, it’s not exactly complex, it’s trashy doof doof music. Goreshit’s more recent work (like the stuff on the propa bo! EP) is 100% more palatable and probably just better musically, but holy fuck Fifth Grade is the archetypal old school Goreshit track. It is 100% a neurone activator.
This was Goreshit’s My Love Feels All Wrong weeb shit era. It’s probably good that we have moved beyond that era, but good god was it just a whole lot of dumb fun.
Uh oh, the Yakuza brainrot is returning. Just beat 3 and started 4 and I’m right back into it.
Isn’t this the same game where players were complaining about how the workers and left wing factions never seemed to revolt, but whenever you did something that even slightly inconvenienced the upper classes they immediately revolted almost every single time?
