Hello. Wikipedia bahsa Aceh needs a new admin to handle all about the wikis. Currently, there is an admin here, and he suggests me to be an admin, too, to help him. - Rachmat.Wahidi (talk) 15:18, 4 May 2013 (UTC)

Who is the current admin in Acewiki? --Jyothis (talk) 19:59, 6 May 2013 (UTC)
Last time I checked, there is one sysop in this wiki, however, his permission has been expired in the last 3 days. So, now acewiki has no sysop. - Rachmat.Wahidi (talk) 04:45, 7 May 2013 (UTC)

Please grant me as permanent sysop since there is no sysop in Acehnese Wikipedia. Thanks. -- Si Gam (talk) 10:23, 7 May 2013 (UTC)

What is the criteria for a user to be able to vote? Can you link to the election policy? -- Tegel (Talk) 10:28, 7 May 2013 (UTC)
Most wikis do not employ any eligibility criteria for active electorate and do not have specific policies regulating the elections... Snowolf How can I help? 10:31, 7 May 2013 (UTC)
The question is about why this user is not allowed to vote. -- Tegel (Talk) 10:34, 7 May 2013 (UTC)
I'd say that the question is how Si Gam feels it proper to strike a vote made against himself. Snowolf How can I help? 10:37, 7 May 2013 (UTC)
I can't believe he did that and still expect to be granted a permanent adminship. Even after Ruslik left a hint he still didn't take the cue. I might vote for you if only you'd allow people like Jose voiced his opinion. But since you decided to suppress his vote, I can't help you any further. But you might apply for another temporary adminship if and only if you would allow people to vote against you. Bennylin 11:44, 7 May 2013 (UTC)
Did I correctly read that you voted for yourself, Si Gam? Snowolf How can I help? 10:31, 7 May 2013 (UTC) Misread. Snowolf How can I help? 11:19, 7 May 2013 (UTC)
Which one? -- Si Gam (talk) 10:59, 7 May 2013 (UTC)

The voting policy in Acehnese Wikipedia can be found here. The criteria is the user must understand Acehnese language. -- Si Gam (talk) 10:58, 7 May 2013 (UTC)

Said policy was made up by yourself this morning after Tegel asked what the policy was, to justify your earlier action, taken inappropriately and in full conflict of interest. Snowolf How can I help? 11:15, 7 May 2013 (UTC)
  • Not done This request cannot possibly be granted. You have shown on this very morning that you have no comprehension of what is expected from an administrator and past episodes don't help either. Snowolf How can I help? 11:15, 7 May 2013 (UTC)
Logically, is a user who do not understand Acehnese may vote? -- Si Gam (talk) 11:21, 7 May 2013 (UTC)
The policy is here. -- Si Gam (talk) 11:28, 7 May 2013 (UTC)
I don't see how that relates to requests for adminship. Please, stop climbing on mirrors. You removed a vote that you didn't like despite knowing full well that you had a dispute with that user and then made up a policy on the spot to suit your needs when questioned about your actions. There's nothing you can say to try and make it look less worse than it actually is. Now, move on. Snowolf How can I help? 11:32, 7 May 2013 (UTC)
I think you can read this sentence clearly: "Please vote below (voting only for Acehnese Wikipedia user that understand Acehnese)". -- Si Gam (talk) 11:41, 7 May 2013 (UTC)

For someone who was globally locked and came back used another account, you just have bold demands. DarkoNeko (talk) 11:57, 7 May 2013 (UTC)

Hahaha. Thanks. For some one who acted as dictator by freedom of speech. :D -- Si Gam (talk) 12:36, 7 May 2013 (UTC)
Simple fact is that your community is too small for permanent administration, and it is probably too small to make a rule that is that discriminatory, and one that would seem to be contradictory to the whole of WMF. Pretty certain that this request is now closed. Not done closed. — billinghurst sDrewth 12:09, 7 May 2013 (UTC)
What are requirements for permanent administrator? How can you say discriminatory? Which part that contradicts with WMF? If we allow all user to vote, it is same like allowing bot user to vote. -- Si Gam (talk) 12:36, 7 May 2013 (UTC)
Hi, I noticed all of you have argued about giving Si Gam a permanent sysop. May I tell you, Acehnese Wikipedia right now has no active or permanent sysop. Users who have a willing to contribute on this wiki are also a few. In my opinion, giving a permanent adminship to him might help raise the contributors. I joined this wiki because of him. I can't agree if all of you won't give such a permanent adminship to hold acewiki to him. Also, I requested to be a sysop, too, to give him a hand. You may see it here. I can't believe you all don't care about "small wiki" like acewiki by not granting a sysop. Please don't ignore his effort developing this wiki. So, if you reject him to be a permanent sysop, I'll also refuse to be a sysop, and acewiki should be closed then. — Rachmat.Wahidi (talk) 13:21, 7 May 2013 (UTC)
Truthfully, I'm a bit curious. You stated that you don't know much Acehnese yourself, yet you nominate yourself to be admin, and apparently you're allowed to vote. Bennylin 14:18, 7 May 2013 (UTC)
The presence of admin(s) is not a necessity for a Wikipedia to work. Even without admins, contributors still can revert vandalism, and put a "delete" tag on pages that need to be deleted. That's global sysops and stewards' job to delete pages on projects with no admin. Everyone else still welcomed to edit and create new articles in Acehnese Wikipedia, and aspire to become an admin. The comments from other stewards above doesn't reflect your nomination per se, unless you decided otherwise.
Bennylin 14:29, 7 May 2013 (UTC)
Rachmat Wahidi is Acehnese speaker. What he has stated as did not know Acehnese well was that he is not expert in Acehnese. So do not compare him with Jose77. -- Si Gam (talk) 17:25, 7 May 2013 (UTC)

Hey. I requested administrator privileges on is.wikisource in January and got local support from the local community. The request was closed by giving me three month temporary adminship that expired on 19 April. For the record I think should have gotten a permanent adminship but if the stewards disagree, then I would like an extension of the temporary adminship. Bjarki S (talk) 14:03, 10 May 2013 (UTC)

Place a new request locally and link to it here. -- Tegel (Talk) 14:12, 10 May 2013 (UTC)
Hi, Bjarki S, to elaborate what Tegel said above, please put a new request on is.wikisource announcing that your temporary adminship has expired, and you now seek for permanent adminship. Then, if in a week your request has been approved by the community, come back here and put a new request again, we would be happy to grant you permanent adminship in is.wikisource. Right you, you only linked to the vote for your previous request, therefore it's not sufficient. We'll be waiting for your successful nomination soon. Bennylin 12:12, 13 May 2013 (UTC)
PS: You can quickly create a new announcement/voting in is.wikisource and link it here, or if no action is taken within the next day, your request shall be archived for now, and you can submit another request as soon as you have the nomination done. Thanks. Bennylin 12:15, 13 May 2013 (UTC)

Why are you blocked in ruwiki for vandalism? Ruslik (talk) 16:52, 10 May 2013 (UTC)
What it is related to ru.wikiversity? On how many I remember problems in other communities shouldn't be considered. I know this situation, there the person systematically finished and he emotionally didn't sustain, but why we have to consider it? --SergeyJ (talk) 17:15, 10 May 2013 (UTC)
It is not just a problem in one community. It is just plain vandalism. I do not think a vandal can be a sysop in any Wikimedia project. Ruslik (talk) 18:29, 10 May 2013 (UTC)
What is vandalism? This is the person much and well writes about German. And that that at it once wasn't sustained by nerves - I don't think that this basis to call him the vandal --SergeyJ (talk) 18:32, 10 May 2013 (UTC)
The same person will be awarded by ruwikimedia as the most active participant wikiversity [5]. --SergeyJ (talk) 18:36, 10 May 2013 (UTC)
Why can not a vandal be awarded a ru.wikimedia prize? Especially since you plainly told them to whom it should be awarded.--Ymblanter (talk) 18:52, 10 May 2013 (UTC)
Perhaps but for this reason he isn't a vandal, and the good participant. --SergeyJ (talk) 18:55, 10 May 2013 (UTC)
The last two blocks sound like a rage quit, apparently he was not really happy and wanted to get his account locked. The first one is indeed more difficult to explain, this is plain vandalism as a retaliation for smth.--Ymblanter (talk) 18:54, 10 May 2013 (UTC)
I also say that it is emotional failure, instead of systematic occupation by vandalism just for the hell of it. It explained that it had problems in life and here it yet didn't understand - he simply took offense then. (Я и говорю, что это эмоциональный срыв, а не планамерное занятие вандализмом ради удовольствия. Он пояснял, что у него были проблемы в жизни и тут его еще не поняли - он просто обидился тогда. ) --SergeyJ (talk) 18:58, 10 May 2013 (UTC)
I'll be honest, I'm not exactly understanding what this ruwikimedia prize is or how it is relevant to this request. From what I understand, this user has no less than an indefinite block for vandalism on ruwiki with talk page access revoked, which is obviously a concern and perhaps the user should explain the circumstances that led to the block and what it's all about. Also, could anybody kindle explain whate these two blocks that "sound like a rage quit" are? Are we talking about the last two entry on the block log on ruwiki? Snowolf How can I help? 19:05, 10 May 2013 (UTC)
Yes, I was talking about the last two entries. Apparently, the user wanted to get blocked but nobody wanted to block him, so that he decided to vandalize articles so that he finally gets blocked (and succeeded). Note that I have no position or no interest of either having or not having this user as admin on ru.wv, frankly, I do not care about this project. I am just talking as someone who reads Russian and is somewhat familiar with the practices of ru.wp.--Ymblanter (talk) 19:37, 10 May 2013 (UTC)
I understand that and it is much appreciated. Yeah that really is unacceptable from administrators, especially given how recent it is and how if one ragequits by vandalism once, they might very well ragequit that way twice by using their admin tools. Let's see what explanation the user has for these disturbing events. Snowolf How can I help? 19:44, 10 May 2013 (UTC)
I didn't want to be blocked at first. And the first blocking was not for me. My account was available to two people - it belonged to me and my roommate. The account was created not by me. I usurped it in the Russian Wikipedia and renamed an account "Alexander Hoffmann" to "Alexander Mikhalenko". The second blocking was made through my fault. I really had problems in my personal life, other users in the Russian Wikipedia began to criticize me because of small defects in my articles. Then one of administrators removed two pages in my personal space. He decided that these pages violate Wikipedia rules. Actually these pages contained information about me and my activity in Wikipedia. Many users have such subpages. It very angered me. I recognize that I arrived incorrectly and sometime I will be rehabilitated in Wikipedia. During the award ceremony which you already discussed I will publicly ask forgiveness for users. I never planned to undermine activity of projects of Wikimedia Foundation. I promise that I will never make vandal editings and I will never trade on the status of the administrator. You said that I wanted to be blocked. It partly truth. After blocking I told thanks on my personal page. I thought that I will never return back. Later more than half a year a lot of things changed. I understood that was too quick-tempered. I think that former sins which I realized shouldn't influence my wiki-career in the future (you shouldn't take the word "career" literally). There are in the Wikiversity few active users, but there are many anonymous vandals. And one administrator doesn't manage to eliminate a consequence of their vandalism. I want to help to the actual administrator. Alexander Mikhalenko (talk) 02:44, 11 May 2013 (UTC)

The rights are not automatically transferred when a new wiki is created. You need to have an election. I can only grant you a temporal sysop access. Ruslik (talk) 12:34, 25 May 2013 (UTC)

I apologize because I assumed that you could read Greek (can't you?! :) ). The link I gave above el:voy:Βικιταξίδια:Περίπτερο επισκεπτών#Εκλογές διαχειριστή says: "el:voy:Wikivoyage:Village Pump#Elections for Administrator". I must have assumed at the time that this was obvious (hm... for those who speak Greek, I was definitely right...). These elections happened in March, two months ago. The administrators where not assigned their rights because of their own application. They were assigned the admin rights because they were elected. --FocalPoint (talk) 14:40, 25 May 2013 (UTC)

Well, the problem is here that the discussion happened already on Incubator (at [6]) and was imported. Test-admin rights from Incubator are not transferred automatically, but the users can become temporary sysops on the new wiki; and of course a new election can be held on the new wiki. --MF-W 20:06, 27 May 2013 (UTC)

I'm an administrator at the Finnish Wiktionary (fi.wiktionary.org), and User:Hunsvotti was approved as administrator, 100 % support. He should be given the administrator rights (voting has ended). Our local bureaucrat is not available on short notice, so I decided to ask for the rights here and the local bureaucrat will make the rights permanent when he'll be available (I'll leave a message on his talk page ASAP). Please, ask for clarification/elaboration if necessary. --Hartz (talk) 15:25, 7 May 2013 (UTC)

Hi. Can you please send an email and a talk page note to TJ first? We have granted in the past rights on wikis with bureaucrats if they're inactive (no problems with that) but I'd preferr if we gave him a couple of days to respond to see if our intervention is necessary. I'd propose to set this on hold for 48 hours and, if there's no action by TJ; flag the user as the vote looks valid. -- MarcoAurelio (talk) 15:39, 7 May 2013 (UTC)

--SergeyJ (talk) 15:10, 7 May 2013 (UTC)
Not done the community is too small for the election of local bureaucrats and the election the level of support from locally active users necessary for the election of a local 'crat anyway. I should note that with SUL finalization coming soon the need for local 'crats is in any case greatly reduced so I wouldn't worry too much about it. Snowolf How can I help? 09:14, 10 May 2013 (UTC)
As it is known the minimum level isn't defined globally by stewards. And the matter already rose earlier. Vote agrees ruwikiversity accepted in community to norms took place and you have to provide the rights of the bureaucrat. I remind that stewards don't solve the matter and can't interfere with development to community. The community not small, and has simply big turnover of staff in particular because of lack of stability of administrators and the bureaucrat. ) SergeyJ (talk) 09:55, 10 May 2013 (UTC)
I'm not exactly sure how the "stability of adminstrators and bureaucrat" has to do with anything, but in any case, ruwikiversity has too small of a currently active community for the appointment of 'crats. Snowolf How can I help? 12:26, 10 May 2013 (UTC)
  • You are right, Snowolf, our community is small, but it isn't an occasion not to grant to us the right to appoint administrators (independently, natürlich). I don't understand, why "not done". SSJ is a worthy candidate for a post of the bureaucrat. --Alexander Mikhalenko (talk) 11:16, 10 May 2013 (UTC)
Actually, community size is one of the two factors we weigh in deciding whether to fulfill the request or not. I should note that administrators should never be appointed, always elected, and you already do so indipendently, stewards merely weigh the consensus and ensure that no abuses take place. We routinely decline requests to grant 'crat rights to communities which are too small to support one, and this is the case right now. With 3 administrators and 9 active users, it's really not big enough for 'crats. Snowolf How can I help? 12:26, 10 May 2013 (UTC)
Let's not distort only. Now number of active participants around 15-20, and many aren't registered, and govern anonymously. As for administrators it is a separate problem - from these the 3rd only I am active constantly. And if I distract for couple of days - nobody can delete spam or make other administrative decisions. And it is valid, administrators and bureaucrats aren't appointed (!) but you decided that you can approve or not vote in community and to solve when to them is necessary or not the bureaucrat it isn't correct. The question of administrators will be the following - too tell, what we are small? So can you awake to carry out a role of the constant bureaucrat in ruwikiversity? But also it after all won't be. Especially, once again I will remind, what smaller communities have the bureaucrats - why you then don't remove them? I don't want to argue with you but why you solve for community, since what time the steward has on this right? You want to note any abuse or this prejudiced opinion? I ask this controversial question to consider one more steward.
--SergeyJ (talk) 13:50, 10 May 2013 (UTC)
Honestly all I understood of this comment is that you're saying I'm distorting stats (I'm not, only 9 users had made 10 or more edits in the current month at the time of my reply) and that I'm biased. Snowolf How can I help? 18:50, 10 May 2013 (UTC)

We do not, but the situation at hand is clearly lower than any possible criteria :) I still don't understand why you've contacted a former WMF staffer+steward who's long retired from these projects... Snowolf How can I help? 19:07, 10 May 2013 (UTC)
There is no nothing clearly. Discussion begun because of me [9] so for 2 years ended with nothing. Now our community became more than then, but again you consider it not enough. Though the need for administrators and bureaucrats for community is - and the community approves it. And I addressed to Bastique as it in a course of a situation was then. --SergeyJ (talk) 19:20, 10 May 2013 (UTC)
In my opinion, you don't carry out: "Stewards should not override consensus, such as whether or not a user should be given a particular user right. Their task is to implement valid community consensus within the bounds of the Foundation's goals. If there are any doubts as to whether or not an action should be performed, stewards should not act unless it is an emergency situation requiring immediate action or there are no active local users to do it. Stewards should always be neutral. They can vote in elections, but when executing the result of the election the steward has to act according to the result, even if they disagree with the outcome." + "If a steward has doubts about a request, they should let the other stewards know so the request will not be granted by another steward." [10] --SergeyJ (talk) 19:39, 10 May 2013 (UTC)
  • Besides, in discussion Minimum_voting_requirements it is spoken about 15 voices at 80% of a support and it is brought arguments that it can be for many. In this case for me 11 people and 100% support voted. I don't think that it is possible to treat as "clearly lower than any possible criteria". --SergeyJ (talk) 20:12, 10 May 2013 (UTC)
  • Here [11] the criterion is offered to a thicket "10 votes + 80% support" . Why you ignore what was already discussed and is taken out in heading of this section? --SergeyJ (talk) 20:24, 10 May 2013 (UTC)
  • And here the recent example [12] - as only 4 voices and to the participant is appropriated a flag of the bureaucrat. And you still awake to say, what in my case there aren't enough voices? From where such double standards? --SergeyJ (talk) 20:50, 10 May 2013 (UTC)
  • And here still a clear example where the steward wrote "Done. 10 votes in favor and none in opposition after nearly two months is good enough for me. --Daniel Mayer" [13]. Therefore I resolutely object that in IDENTICAL cases different decisions would be made. --SergeyJ (talk) 20:58, 10 May 2013 (UTC)
I will reply one last time, and I don't know whether you're being serious or not: you first selectively quote an inconclusive RfC from ages ago that however states right where you point that 6-10 admins are required for the appointment of a 'crat; then you move on to point to an example of a local 'crat promoting, how is that relevant to our practices, I do not understand or get; then you point to an example from 2010 when current best practices were not in place. Now please find something else to do, good night. Honestly, you'll get nowhere with selective quoting of discussions that fully support our current practices plus digging up some remove and not related examples. I'm not sure I understand what you're trying to accomplish, but you will not obtain it thru these means. I think I've replied enough. Snowolf How can I help? 22:35, 10 May 2013 (UTC)

Comment Comment As a native speaker of Arabic and a former steward, I must say that Zaxo didn't say explicitly that he resigns. He said "متقاعد" which could mean that he will take a wikibreak. I recommend rejecting this request unless Zaxo requests removal of rights himself or there was a vote on desysoping him according to the local policy. As a side note to stewards, the link that Mohamed Ouda provided is a complain about Zaxo for insulting other users on Facebook which is not directly related to his conduct on Wikipedia. --Meno25 (talk) 10:47, 20 May 2013 (UTC)
Comment Comment He Also request from me on a private message to revoke his sysop permissions --Mohamed Ouda (talk) 11:08, 20 May 2013 (UTC)
Comment Comment If you read the discussion you will find that there is consensus on removing his sysop rights, and note that although the matter happened outside Wikipedia it was about a vote on Wikipedia, and there is many witnesses --aad_Dira (talk) 15:28, 20 May 2013 (UTC).
  • From what I can understand and from what Meno25 tells us, I do not see a discussion to formally revoke his administrative privileges and mere retirement is no ground for the removal of the sysop bit. Comment Comment There is no consensus on this issue (conflict between Kurdish nationalists' users and non-Kurdish nationalist users). Takabeg (talk) 00:07, 21 May 2013 (UTC)

You always do that Takabeg, you change topic as a political issue. I told you here too. This is about Mirzali's sysop abuse. He insults and blocks people. When will you tell Mirzali to stop insulting? By the way, You didnt disscuss it in our internal discussion page, coz you cant speak Zazaki, but you want to change people's mind with political propaganda here. Respect to internal decision please.--Gomada (talk) 10:17, 21 May 2013 (UTC)

Comment Comment This is a conspiracy against me made by Gomada (one of Kurdish nationalists). I'm a born Zaza. I'm active from the beginning of the project (since 2006). The allegations are taken out of concept. Just they have tried here before. -- Mirzali (talk) 08:15, 21 May 2013 (UTC)

@Mirzali, do you mean: Im admin, i can insult and block people as i want? When will you stop to blame people and accept your mistakes? There is a list of your insults here. Is Wikipedia adminship for insulting other users? (PS:Steward Quentinv57 has kindly told Mirzali to not block and insult users on April 7, but Mirzali didnt care and he kept to insulting and blocking)--Gomada (talk) 10:20, 21 May 2013 (UTC)

Comment Comment Even diq:User:Xoser (one of the administrators of Zazaki Wikipedia and known as pro-Kurdish nationalist user) said at first That voting was not supposed to be for the desysopication of Mirzali. At least the title does not ask for that. I think we should stop playing these kinds of games anymore.. However, then he cancelled it (That voting was not supposed to be for the desysopication of Mirzali. At least the title does not ask for that.) Takabeg (talk) 12:48, 21 May 2013 (UTC)

Its clear that, you want to criminalise all users who dont think as you. Kurdish nationlist, Kurdish ethnocentrist, Pro-Kurdish nationalists etc. In each project you use same words to criminalise users. How can you blame users so easily? Or who are you to decide that?--Gomada (talk) 13:57, 21 May 2013 (UTC)
@Please don't try to personalize this issue. Please stop personal attack. There is no direct relationship between this issue and Requests for comment/Sysop (Mskyrider) abuse on the Turkish Wikipedia. Takabeg (talk) 23:58, 22 May 2013 (UTC)
@Takabeg - What the title says is "Abusement of Sysop-power." If he is abusing his power, there should be some consequences. In my opinion he did abuse his power and I gave a "Support" vote. This issue needs to be solved one way or another. Either Mirzali should stop abusing his power and work with users. Or he should be deprived of his sysop powers. That is my opinion. --Xoser (talk) 13:21, 21 May 2013 (UTC)
@Takabeg, you tried to desysop Xoser twice, but now you care his adminship? :) I dont think so. You just want to use his mistake. Anyway, you dont speak Zazaki but i can translate for you. When i started the request, i wrote so Pêşnîyazê mi no yo ke wa heqê Mirzali ê îdareyî destê ey ra bêrê girotene. Endî bes o! that means, My suggestion is that, Mirzali should be deprived of his sysop rights. That's enough! and users voted. If there is not a suggestion, what for was that voting? You are the only non-Zazaki speaker and you bring troubles to Zazaki wikipedia. You support Mirzali even if he insults and blocks people, just because of your political propaganda. When will you tell Mirzali to stop insulting?--Gomada (talk) 13:50, 21 May 2013 (UTC)
It is my mistake. I was not careful reading the request. The translation of Gomada is correct. The voting was about the Desysopication of Mirzali, based on his abusement of sysop rights.--Xoser (talk) 14:05, 21 May 2013 (UTC)

  • Comment Closing comment Considering that this local vote clearly shows that Mirzali has lost the trust of the community (only 20% of support) and that nothing was wrong about the vote itself (the delay and the place were reasonable, most of the active users voted, and other votes were striked) ;
    that an RfC was opened some months ago to show Mirzali abuses, that I asked him personally to stop instulting other contributors or blocking them with no valid reason and he even continued after ;
that I was a bit concerned by the comment of Takabeg about a conflict between nationalist users but it is not much credible due to his multiple blocks on other projects,
I am about to remove Mirzali from the sysop group. He may ask for his adminship back by opening a local discussion if and when he wants to, as long as it is conform to the local rules. -- Quentinv57 (talk) 18:19, 27 May 2013 (UTC)

The thing is, a user blanked our version of the village pump (it's been restored) and I'm concerned that he may repeat the action. There's no sysop for the project at the moment. The last time the wiki had a temporary sysop was in 2009. I understand that sometimes very small wikis don't need sysop but being a sysop for a couple of months will enable me to watch the wiki better and show vandals quickly that somebody is watching the wiki and they'd better be careful. I'm only asking to be a temporary admin. Thanks Algazel (talk) 09:49, 5 February 2013 (UTC)
Do you want temporary access or permanent access? For permanent access, you need to wait the discussion for at least a week. For temporary access, it can be granted immediately, since I know your activity in ms.wikipedia, and the temporary access can be renewed once it expired. I think for small wiki like ms.wikibooks a temp access is preferred. Bennylin 13:14, 5 February 2013 (UTC)
Just temporary access 2-3 months will do. Algazel (talk) 14:25, 5 February 2013 (UTC)
Seeing your works on ms.wp, you've been granted 3 months temp access on ms.wikibooks. You can request an extension or even a permanent admin right in 3 months. Bennylin 15:52, 5 February 2013 (UTC)
Thanks very much. Algazel (talk) 16:05, 5 February 2013 (UTC)

आशीष भटनागर@hi.wikipedia

I have been working at Hindi wikipedia for so long with much of contribution, which can be seen by admin tools, I need not state them. Alongwith working as Admin & thereafter as Bureaucrat for long. Offcourse for last one year my contributions sufferred due to some personal reasons. Still I promise to abide by the policies & contribute towards editing as well as the Admin tasks in future. Request for Admin Rights, as for good editing it is required to have many rights, as deletion, protection, removal of protection & much more. Here it is to be noted that I have been elected by nomination (pls refer this nomination).

Therefore my Admin rights may please be revived. Ashish Bhatnagartalk 03:59, 5 November 2012 (UTC)

*Done Granted for 6 months to expire on 2013-05-05. To prolong your (interface) adminship, please start another election a few days before your temporary access expires, and after a week post your request again to this page. Thanks. -- Avi (talk) 14:50, 5 November 2012 (UTC)

  • Just want to enquire that why the dormant sysops पूर्णिमा वर्मन & Munita Prasad have been retained as sysops here (refer) who have been out of any activity so long?
Unfortunately, we cannot track every admin on every project. If you can show that there are people on your project who, according to your own wiki rules, are no longer eligible for being sysops, please file a request for removal below. Also, please make sure you link to the discussion on your project where the removal was reviewed. There are some projects, for example, who do not remove privs for inactivity. -- Avi (talk) 14:50, 5 November 2012 (UTC)
Thanks for the attention & grant. I actually requested for permanent sysops rights only, but missed to state the same. Actually we at hi.wikipedia generally used to grant permanent adminships, thats why I took missed to state the permanent word. Thats why I had also stated the link to the consensus at hi.wiki. Now if you see, I may be granted permanent admin rights. --Ashish Bhatnagartalk 15:57, 6 November 2012 (UTC)
Just now observed the current status of the recent consensus at hi.wiki for permanent admin rights. This can be seen at the consensus/request for Permanent admin rights page at hi.wiki. Now I do request for permanent admin rights. --Ashish Bhatnagartalk 16:00, 6 November 2012 (UTC)
  • My sincere thanks for a prompt action. Here I would also like to remind that I was elected Bureaucrat on 16 June, 2010 & have been on the post with responsibility till then. This election was with consensus & can be seen on this Archive page. So I request you to please restore the Bureaucrat position rights for me, so that hi.wikipedia also has its one local Bureaucrat & everybody or anybody has no need to call up the stewards for the matters, that can be resolved there. --Ashish Bhatnagartalk 03:46, 9 November 2012 (UTC)
According to RfC related to user-rights on Hindi Wikipedia, no one can be assigned bureaucrat privilege for a year on Hindi Wikipedia and all assignments of admin flags will be considered by stewards only.--Bill william compton (talk) 19:35, 10 November 2012 (UTC)

とある白い猫@tpi.wikipedia

I'd like to request an extension of my existing sysop access (that recently expired). -- とある白い猫 chi? 00:15, 24 November 2012 (UTC)

As the other main admin on tpi.wikipedia, I would like to second this request. Owing to my recent heavy workload, I'd missed a request from TASN asking me whether I'd like him to renew, which I did - so with respect, the fact he's expired is partially my fault. I'm a sysop there and i would like importer rights to import pages of a main category of pt-wp. Gusta (talk) 22:51, 8 May 2013 (UTC)

Have you considered to enable transwiki importing (a right assigned to admins)? --MF-W 23:26, 8 May 2013 (UTC)
You mean, the one that you need to ask at bugzilla? Gusta (talk) 23:44, 8 May 2013 (UTC)
Yes. It has the advantage that it only needs to be set up once and then all sysops can use it. For importer rights, there needs to be a separate election. --MF-W 03:15, 9 May 2013 (UTC)
For now best left that way. When we go out of beta, we can put this extension.
Such as Gusta not know how to use the tool, I asked him to make a list of what should be imported, after we request to a global importer, or I take the flag and do. I think it's better. Rodrigo Tetsuo Argenton m 10:40, 9 May 2013 (UTC)
  • I know how to use the tool. If i remember right we didn't enabled import over there. I withdraw the request because we don't need to import anything anymore. Thank you. Gusta (talk) 18:33, 9 May 2013 (UTC)

I have a SUL account but I am not able to login at hr.wikipedia. When I try I only see the following warning in a big red box:

"Requests that don't fit in other sections belong here." But if not here, where should I ask? Are stewards not able to help with local wikis? Holger1959 (talk) 21:54, 19 May 2013 (UTC)
Try messaging User:SpeedyGonsales here. --Rschen7754 21:57, 19 May 2013 (UTC)
  • While I understand your frustration, and I have once temporarily removed the rule to allow Rschen7754 to create an account there, the local admin, SpeedyGonsales made it clear that they stand behind that rule. Please see his comments in English and Croatian at hr:MediaWiki razgovor:Titleblacklist. It seems what they want you to do is to create a name without the numbers and get a 'crat to rename it to your real name. Again, I think the whole thing's silly, but who am I to question their business. I am marking this as not done because the local wiki has made it clear what they feel the procedure for handling this should be. Snowolf How can I help? 20:12, 23 May 2013 (UTC)
Thank you very much for this information, Snowolf. See follow up. Holger1959 (talk) 14:34, 24 May 2013 (UTC)
