Welcome to the home of the LGBT+ Awareness Project! This is where updates will be posted, and I can answer your questions!
ATENTION EVERYONE IN THE US
Tomorrow October 4th 2023, a nationwide alert will go off on EVERY PHONE! If you have a hidden phone you need to SHUT IT OFF COMPLETELY!
The FEMA alert will go off at approximately 1:20pm CST, and will both buzz and have sound.
If you are unaware, many people in abusive households have hidden phones they use to help them get out. If their phone is discovered they may be beaten, starved, etc. It is VERY important that everyone who needs a hidden phone can turn it off in time.
THE HUMAN RIGHTS CAMPAIGN HAS DECLARED A STATE OF EMERGENCY FOR LGBT PEOPLE IN THE USA
Please watch this video by Rudy Riggs explaining it!
Took uh, a lot longer to add this ID than I intended
Picture ID: A person with a black t-shirt, layered silver necklaces, several piercings, a hat, and red hair dye except for the middle section which is brown. Their hair is very short, and they are very expressive with their hands and head movement. Their visible hand has several rings, one of which is very large.
The background is of a beige room with a sign light on the left, a picture or painting on the right, and plant in the corner.
There are captions above their head and a title in front of their throat which only stays for a few seconds.
End Picture ID
Captions(slashes are used to signify the end of a caption):
okay so a national state of emergency has been declared in America/
for LGBTQ+ people by the Human Rights Commission/
but what does that even mean/
I hear you ask/
look it up for yourself/
but I’m going to tell you the top line facts/
firstly they have released a statement of emergency/
which basically just states what the emergency is about/
and why they have decided to declare one/
they’ve also released what they’re calling a handbook/
which has a bunch of resources/
like different laws in different states of America/
as well as rights for LGBTQ+ people in different states of America/
as well how to determine access for healthcare/
how to finance yourself a move to a safer state or place and finding employment/
information for filing complaints against civil rights laws/
as well as a bunch of other stuff about how to identify rhetoric/
and how to oppose anti LGBTQ/
plus situations on school boards or in other areas of your life/
and then finally/
the Human Rights Commission have also released information for travelers/
coming to the United States of America/
which is pretty terrifying/
that is just the overview of a very in depth document/
so please go and look at it yourself/
this is supposed to be Pride Month/
and it’s really hard to feel pride/
when human rights are being violated across the entire globe/

Rudy makes a note in the video description that they misspoke in the video and that it was the Human Rights Campaign, not Commission.
As some of you are aware, I am working on a history project for this upcoming pride month. It is going to be separated by continent and cover as far back as I can manage.
This is going to be a lot to research and learn about by myself, so I’ve created survey for you to share what you know or want to know, and also resources you might have. Thanks!
[Image ID: An individual with long brunette wavy hair, white complexion, pride earrings, and a transgender T-shirt with incomprehensive writing. The individual is white with a gap between the two front teeth. In the background are framed butterflies, a green neon light, and a table with a plant. The video periodically shows images of a painting of Mesopotamia, a orange and grayscale image of Enheduanna, a grayscale image of Lucy Anderson wearing a hat and dress-coat, Michael Millis standing behind a podium, and a large scaled image of a riot near the capitol. End ID]
[Caption ID: The individual says, “We have always been here, and that’s the message I want to start off with pride. You see, thousands of years ago in ancient Mesopotamia, the priesthood of Innana, they were made up of transgender priests. And the very first human author Enheduanna whenever the very first time a story was put onto tablets with synbols was written about that priesthood. Transgender people are a part of the DNA of what it means to be human. We have always been here. Fast forward, 2000 years, the empress Elagabalis, a transgender roman Empress, that you never hear about in the history books. Demaned, she be referred to as herself. She went by the title of queen. We have always been here. Fast forward 2000 more years, Lucy Anderson, a black trans woman in 1980, transitioned as a kid. She became the best-known cook and socialite in her town in California. And whenever she was arrested and they found out her assigned sex at birth, all the townspeople gathered up and demanded that she be released because they had a feast to throw that night. We have always been here. And so, whenever we see people like Michael Millis stand in front of seatbelt calling for transgender eradication, that is impossible. Because you can eradicate every last one of us, and we would still be here because we would continue to be reborn. We are a part of what it means to be human. And so, they will still try. They passed all these laws to target us, and yet, look around. They failed. We are still here. They failed to eradicate us. And we will celebrate their failure for an entire month, and our joy will be our resistance. Happy pride. End ID]
Hello! You heard that right! I am currently in the process of making V.2 of the survey. As I’m working on this I want to take into consideration your opinions on it, and make it as complete, thorough, and understandable as I can. I have made a small form that you can fill out for suggestions, comments, and concerns about the survey, please fill it out and share it! Thanks :D
Ps. If you need to look at the original survey it is in the pinned post! Don’t submit it again if you already have, please.
