This was established by the JCIA (Japan Camera Industry Association), the central organization for deliberations and the predecessor of CIPA. JEITA (Japan Electronics and Information Technology Industries Association) manages the standards, while CIPA discusses technology and promotes the standards.
*CIPA and JEITA have jointly established and managed these standards since 2009.
