Registered my personal domainname

Registered my personal domainname. I can buy my own name back for USD $ 3.495 tax excl., which is prohibited by all domain registry proceedings, yet the cost to do go after them is really beyond my financial means - and thus, it's lost to me. My own name.

Blackmail business model. Avoid at all costs.

It's a really dodgy scam. As part of Go-Daddy and 123-reg, these guys will remove your bank details off your domains in your 123-reg account and then not send you renewal emails. When the renewal then fails they will remove your domains and put them up for sale at ridiculous amount so money and refuse to give them back.

UPDATE - DAN.com have stated they have tried to contact me through Trustpilot. literally no contact at all. 123-reg gave me their legal contact. This is indirect blackmail.

Further Update - These guys are now trying to get my review removed. As a company they decided to take my domain, decided to not give it back and try and sell it back to me and then decided to feign ignorance. They are now deciding to try and have my review removed. I refuse to contact them further. This is why Trustpilot exists so hopefully this will not be removed.

Hello maximum,

We are sorry to hear that your domain name expired and that someone else registered it after its expiration. We know how frustrating it can be to miss important times like a Domain Name renewal due date. We appreciate the opportunity to clarify that as a Domain Name Marketplace, anyone can create an account with us, and list the domain names they have registered, for sale. I hope this information helps in understanding what we do as a company and appreciate you sharing your experience with us.

My thanks,
JM

Repeated Unnecessary Emails after transferring my new domain purchase

The transfer of the domain that I purchased was easy. However, the continuous unnecessary annoying emails to complete my domain transfer a week after I had already transferred the domain were a nuisance. Because of these repeated unnecessary emails I lost time I won't get back after double and triple checking my account I had completed my domain transfer without issue.

absolute scam

Godaddy/Dan.com is an absolute scam and has been for years. I registered aaronwolf.com through godaddy years ago. They "repoed" the domain claiming I had not updated my contact info but they had no problems contacting me offering to sell me the domain I still owned for premium pricing. Absolute trash company go elsewhere there's plenty of other options.

Hello Aaron,

Thank you for your feedback.Per ICANN's Domain Name Registrant Contact Information and ICANN’s WHOIS Data Reminder Policy (WDRP):

"In addition, you are required to correct and update your information promptly if there are any changes to it during the registration period. If you give wrong information on purpose, or do not update your information promptly when there is a change, your domain name registration may also be suspended or cancelled. This could also happen if you do not respond to inquiries from your registrar if they contact you about the accuracy of your contact information during the term of the registration period." I hope this information helps and we appreciate you sharing your experience with us.

My thanks,

Dan.com is still really upsetting

Dan.com continues to be really upsetting with their recurrent fraudulent listings
Since my last recent TrustPilot review, almost 3 dozen new unauthorized listings of my domains appeared.

It's as if rogue sellers on their platform believe that they can post anyone's domain names for sale on Dan.com, without the owner's permission and with impunity. They apparently don't mind potentially scamming unknowing buyers of hundreds or even thousands of dollars. As before, their listing prices for my domains were much higher than my legitimate, actual marketplace listings elsewhere.

Dan.com customer support did remove the fraudsters' listings more quickly this time. But there was no indication that any action was taken to restrict or ban the fraudulent sellers involved, especially one that had posted almost two dozen of my names. That is all the more saddening.

Dan.com is a Scam

Dan.com is a Scam. We paid 2-3x to acquire the same domains with Dan.com over more than 28 accounts.
3 authorization links we were sent from Dan.com were bad. Customer support was uncoordinated, unhelpful, whom ultimately transferred 2 of our domains to a Dyna Account we don't have access to. 2 other domains, Dan.com sold them in the Market and were lost.
Authorization codes were often invalid, but Dan.com still charged $100 for re-sending the authorization codes.

Hello William,

Thank you for your feedback. The $100 fee is related to when a buyer is not responding to any of our messages. This would be 45 days late and after a high volume of reminders. In that event a late fee of $100 is charged. We appreciate you sharing your experience with us and helping us to understand how we can better meet our customers needs.

My thanks,
JM
