To celebrate Pride 2024, our employees came together this morning to recognise and celebrate the theme - Past, Present, Future - ensuring diversity, equity and inclusion remain at the forefront for J&J. Our Open&Out (O&O) employee resource group for LGBTQIA+ employees and allies has grown from 20 colleagues in 1993 to thousands of members across the globe today, helping to ensure J&J employees are empowered to bring their full selves to work. Though O&O initiatives, ongoing advocacy, and LGBTQIA+ friendly benefits, J&J stands in full support of the LGBTQIA+ community year-round. #PrideMonth

At Johnson & Johnson, we acknowledge this National Reconciliation Week and the 2024 theme, Now More Than Ever, as an important time for all Australians to reflect on the role each of us play in reconciliation, and take time to learn about First Nations history, culture and their continuing connection to the land, sea and waterways. As a healthcare company, we understand the role we can play in creating improved health outcomes for First Nations people – one of the priorities of Closing the Gap. That’s why we have revised our Health Equity strategy to refocus on supporting access to healthcare, providing educational opportunities for First Nations healthworkers, nurses and doctors, and to continue educating our employees on allyship, racism and unconscious bias. Now More Than Ever, we are committed to tackling the unfinished business of Reconciliation. #reconciliation #nrw #reconciliationaustralia #firstnations #healthequity #closingthegap

Johnson & Johnson - Australia and New Zealand reposted this
Following last week’s Post-Budget Briefing in Canberra by Australian Minister for Health & Aged Care The Honourable Mark Butler MP, yesterday, I was pleased to represent Johnson & Johnson - Australia and New Zealand at the Australian Institute of Policy and Science Opposition Post Budget Health Briefing by the Shadow Health Minister, Senator The Honourable Anne Ruston, at NSW Parliament House. It was pleasing to hear Senator Ruston both discuss the aspects of the Federal Budget that received bipartisan support, as well as her commitment to addressing the challenges in primary care and our healthcare workforce, and a future where Australia’s healthcare system can meet the expectations and innovation required for our country. Johnson & Johnson together with Medicines Australia has been a proud sponsor of these important post-Budget health briefings, which not only provide an opportunity for discussion about the Budget implications for our sector, but also enable patients and advocacy groups to engage directly with our most senior policy makers. Listening and responding to the real needs of patients is critical in ensuring our health system is fit-for-purpose.

Our Head of Community Impact Deborah Guion recently spoke to Health Industry Hub about the work we're doing across Australia and New Zealand to address societal health challenges.

“If access to #healthcare is considered a human right, who is considered human enough to have that right?” -Dr Paul Farmer. This quote sets the scene for my recent interview with Deborah Guion, Head of Health Equity at Johnson & Johnson. Deb delves into her unique role across J&J MedTech & J&J Innovative Medicine (previously #Janssen) and the organisation's inspiring journey towards prioritising #healthequity and #socialimpact "for the greater benefit of humanity". Deb stresses the importance of senior leadership commitment in driving meaningful change in underserved communities, saying "Last year, our two managing directors, Susan Martin and Urs Voegeli took time to travel to Arnhem Land with me, and they sat and listened to community talk about the challenges they face." Looking ahead, Deb highlights the increasing integration of data-driven approaches, as well as the growing emphasis on partnerships and collective action to address pressing societal challenges. #johnsonandjohnson #health #pharma #pharmaceuticals Johnson & Johnson MedTech The Janssen Pharmaceutical Companies of Johnson & Johnson Janssen Australia and New Zealand Health Industry Hub

A key element of J&J’s commitment to #ESG initiatives is protecting our #environment. During 2023, Johnson & Johnson completed the switch to 100% green retail electricity supply to all commercial office and operations facilities in Australia and New Zealand, forming part of our 41% global reduction of Scope 1 + Scope 2 GHG emissions (since 2016). We worked with our logistics partner DHL to reduce carbon emissions across Australia and New Zealand by 84.5 tonnes, a significant reduction supported by the transition in ground transport services to Smartways Logistics, the first carbon-neutral healthcare logistics provider in Australia New Zealand. We also installed electric vehicle charging stations at the Sydney head office carpark for our green-living team members! The United Nations theme of International Women’s Day in 2024 is ‘Invest in women: accelerate progress.’ While gender equity and championing diverse communities is an ongoing priority at Johnson & Johnson ANZ, over the past week in particular we’ve engaged in a number of activities and discussions addressing this theme. Last week, Johnson & Johnson MedTech ANZ Managing Director Susan Martin presented the closing keynote at The Hatchery (Hub) Women in Leadership Summit, speaking about the importance of our internal monologues in changing the external dialogue. On Monday, the ANZ Women’s Leadership & Inclusion Committee hosted a webinar with Janssen Australia and New Zealand Managing Director Urs Voegeli who welcomed guest speaker Karen Taylor, CEO of Women & Leadership Australia (WLA). Karen inspired attendees with stories of allyship from men, inclusion, and career navigation. Karen spoke of the positive impact of women in the workforce, community, and families whilst highlighting the importance of women having financial and economic security. And with the J&J MedTech APAC Regional Leadership Team in Sydney this week, WLI Co-lead Paula Williams (GAICD) interviewed MD Susan Martin and Company Group Chair for MedTech APAC, Vishnu Kalra, about gender equity, positive role models, and the importance of men as allies both in and out of the workplace. #investinwomen #internationalwomensday #inspireinclusion #womeninleadership

“We are responsible to the communities in which we live and work and to the world community as well.” The just-released Australia New Zealand 2023 Impact Report proves that J&J ANZ takes that responsibility seriously through its implementation of its environmental, social and governance (ESG) strategy. Read about our commitments and efforts to improve social and health outcomes for Australian, New Zealand and low socio-economic communities, through significant funding and skilled volunteering support, leveraging our people’s expertise.
