I adore each and every one of them. I can’t believe 2,400 people have actively chosen to look at the random stuff I post.

HELLO ANON YOU HAVE COME TO THE RIGHT FUCKING PLACE BECAUSE I’VE BEEN KINDA OBSESSED WITH MAKING BREAD FOR THE LAST MONTH OR SO.
I’ve posted several recipes on one of my sideblogs, @tastythingsieat.
The bread I made tonight was an adapted version of this loaf I made (tonight I made it with 1/3 whole wheat flour and slightly more water.) That link is a great easy sandwich bread, if you’re cool with kneading dough and have a bread pan! Kneading dough is VERY EASY, if you’re intimidated by it just search YouTube for tutorials, there are plenty that show you exactly how to do it.
For this basic kneaded white sandwich loaf, here’s the recipe (makes one loaf):
1 1⁄4 cups slightly warm water
2 tablespoons olive oil
1 teaspoon sugar
3⁄4 teaspoon salt
1 tbsp yeast
3 1⁄4 cups flour (I used “bread flour” but you can totally use “all purpose” flour)
Mix 4 tablespoons of the warm water (taken from the 1 ¼ cup total) in a small bowl with the yeast and sugar, and let sit. Meanwhile, mix the remaining water and flour and let sit for 10 minutes. Then, mix in salt and olive oil, and add the yeast mixture.
Knead for 7 minutes until smooth and elastic. This might be difficult and messy at first and you might get freaked out cause it’s sticky - YT tutorials are your friend. Let rise in an oiled bowl covered with plastic wrap for 1 hour 15 minutes. At this point, preheat your oven to 350F and deflate and shape the dough before letting it do the final proof for 30-ish minutes in a loaf pan, loosely covered with a towel. Bake for 30 minutes. IMPORTANT: remove the baked dough from the baking pan and let cool on a rack!
Terms like “deflate and shape” can be super intimidating, but again: YouTube tutorials are your friend.
If you want to try a simple no-knead bread, you have several options. Several of the recipes for no-knead bread are posted on @tastythingsieat (I recommend this one if you have a kitchen scale and this one if you don’t.) Both of these recipes require a long (overnight) rising and a Dutch oven with a lid that can go to 450F!
Hope this helps, and feel free to message me off anon/IM me if you have any questions!

Hmmmmmmmm. Okay, so assuming you want a sit-down type thing, the options are so varied! If you want spend, Minetta Tavern in the West Village is p good. RedFarm for Chinese is also >>>>! Uhhh…. Ichabod’s is also good?
For cheaper stuff, Pete’s Tavern is a classic (Old Town gets too crowded most nights after work.) Blossom du Jour is great for any vegetarian/vegans (and tbh it’s freakin’ delicious for non vegans as well.) Also Two Boots pizza is fucking incredible. The V for Vegan pizza is stupidly good. Like woah. Get it with the whole wheat crust. I’m sure their other pizza is great, but that’s the only one I have and ever want to have from them, because it’s wonderful.
Message me off anon or IM me if you want further recs, cause I’m probably forgetting a TON.
