I first of all want to thank you for responding to me. I read through the handout on the semantic differences between (too late, as it turns out), and I’m pleasantly surprised to learn that I agree with you. I feel like arguments in the “I’m more supportive than you are” vein are inherently toxic, and I thank you for identifying one of mine. I don’t make that mistake often and I’m a bit embarrassed about it. 
Secondly, how you choose to identify is your business, and your business alone. I guess I’ve got a hair trigger when it comes to people assuming gender is binary. I’m a less powerful advocate because of that weakness. Thank you for reminding me. 
I’ll have to think about how these differences change my opinion on how I identify (team ‘bi’ or team ‘pan’). Thanks again for giving me a chance to think. I wish (as always when I err this way) that I had done so sooner.
