Hanging on by a Stamen
Azalea, Golden Chain, Rhododendron
Honeysuckle scented Azalea
I don't know what type of Azalea this is, and have never found another one like it. I did find a pink scented Azalea, but it does not smell like honeysuckle. The "honeysuckle" Azalea above is very old, and I would love to find another.
Rhodies, and one Azalea
Spring has come to the Woods
The Azalea is in bloom! The Azalea is in bloom!
I do not know what kind of Azalea this one is, but it smells like honeysuckle. Perfection.
Iced Azalea
The buds are here, it really is Spring!
Memories of summer
Flashback to that all too short Rhododendron and Azalea season!
Azalea, Golden Chain Tree and future blueberries. June begins.
Rhodie season is ending.
Summer is near.
From the first of May...
...to the 20th.
Breathe.
As I post this, it is getting dark. The bees are humming in the rhododendrons, the frogs are warming up their chorus.
But this morning! This morning there was sun! Not too much. Just enough to warm the heart and let the Azaleas give off their subtle scent...
And they whispered, “Savor us. We are not here for long. Soon we shall be but a memory...”
Breathe.
These were the Azaleas a few days ago. And now...
Their scent is to die for!
I was afraid this plant was a goner, the puppies ripped it in half over the winter. (Sadness.) But here it is, bravely meeting the Spring! I am delighted!
