I have a new game out!

The Prophet's Path is a short worldbuilding game for one or more players. In this game, you and perhaps some others will narrate the slow, drawn-out death of a single person.  He will die of the elements, chased on by the forces of your world, watched over by the stars. You and perhaps some others will take on the role of each of these in turn, drawing cards and building his path, the final journey of one who has seen what will come after his death. You will need a deck of tarot cards and a place to put them down. Pen and paper for notes. About three hours playtime, depending on your table.

The end product of this game is a set of constellations that have presided over the death of your prophet.

They make a good unique zodiac for your world but could also serve as a pantheon of gods, a cartel of megacorporations, distant alien alliances, anything your heart desires and your imagination can serve!

Like all of my games the Prophet's Path is free to download and fun to play! If you give it a try I would love to hear your thoughts any time!

I need to say something and I need y'all to be calm

if it isn't actively bad or harmful, no representation should be called "too simple" or "too surface level"

I have a whole argument for this about the barbie movie but today I wanna talk about a show called "the babysitters club" on Netflix

(obligatory disclaimer that I watched only two episodes of this show so if it's super problematic I'm sorry) (yes. I know it's based on a book, this is about the show)

this is a silly 8+ show that my 9 year old sister is watching and it manages to tackle so many complex topics in such an easy way. basic premise is these 13 year old girls have a babysitting agency.

in one episode, a girl babysits this transfem kid. the approach is super simple, with the kid saying stuff like "oh no, those are my old boy clothes, these are my girl clothes". they have to go to the doctor and everyone is calling the kid by her dead name and using he/him and this 13 year old snaps at like a group of doctors and they all listen to her. it's pure fantasy and any person versed in trans theory would point out a bunch of mistakes.

but after watching this episode, my little sister started switching to my name instead of my dead name and intercalating he/him pronouns when talking about me.

one of the 13 years old is a diabetic and sometimes her whole personality is taken over by that. but she has this episode where she pushes herself to her limit and passes out and talks about being in a coma for a while because of not recognizing the limits of her disability.

and this allowed my 9 year old sister to understand me better when I say "I really want to play with you but right now my body physically can't do that" (I'm disabled). she has even asked me why I'm pushing myself, why I'm not using my crutches when I complain about pain.

my mom is 50 years old and watching this show with my sister. she said the episode about the diabetic girl helped her understand me and my disability better. she grew up disabled as well, but she was taught to shut up and power through.

yes, silly simple representation can annoy you if you've read thousands of pages about queer liberation or disability radical thought, but sometimes things are not for you.

anytime a woman starts talking about the “bonds of sisterhood that inherently exist between all women” you just know they bullied the weird girls in high school

The people confused about why this is: Because if they say “Bonds of sisterhood INSTINCTIVELY, INHERENTLY EXIST between ALL WOMEN” then if they *don’t* feel Sisterhood towards you (eg, you are the Weird Girl In High School) then you must have done something TERRIBLE to break that instinctive bond (All gift of fear shit “I don’t know why I don’t like her but I should trust my instinct!!”) so it’s morally right to abuse you, OR since they don’t feel that INSTINCTIVE BOND it must mean that you aren’t Really A Woman (Which… Guess how this plays out for racialised women and especially Black and dark skinned women, disabled women, trans women… etc)

Bonus points: White women using “Where’s your SISTERHOOD?!?!” when they perceive Black and other PoC women, or Nomadic and Traveller women, as “patriarchal” or “traitors” for often feeling more commonality with the men in their own family than with white women…

I was thinking earlier today about a time I saw a terf sincerely claiming that if the men in your family watch porn then they want to rape you, specifically, because you [a woman] have more in common with the woman in the porn than with your male family members, and they can’t distinguish you from the woman in the porn. They are incredibly unhinged about women who feel connection to men who share a marginalisation (such as WoC, Nomad and Traveller women) because for them the divide between men and women literally runs deeper than all family bonds.

My boyfriend has to go to the ren fair for work but i can come and he wanted to do a matching costume. He was like “I want to be Frodo” and I was like “oh cool I can be Shelob” which was, apparently, not the couples costume he was thinking of

I was like “babe she has the most screen time of any woman in Return of the King” and my boyfriend was like “that cannot be true,” looked it up, and said “i can’t believe that’s true”

It's wild to me how much furry art I was marinated in as a child and yet I am still not a furry. "You can be!" No, I can't. I've tried so many times. It's never taken. I'm like those cis+ people but for furries.

A poodle clipped and dyed to resemble a pony.

Every time I see this I go “oh, neat pony” and scroll past while my brain chugs through the caption like the slowest computer on earth and I have to scroll back up to it

@0kkvlt have you seen the bear?

It’s the same poodle

Her name is Bijou and her owner likes turning her into other things

ALI: I think the thing that became difficult was that um, the biggest Valence/Broun shipper on the podcast was Austin Walker? [Friends erupt into laughter] So.
AUSTIN: Yeah, what’s up? What’s good?
ANDREW: It’s true.
AUSTIN: Uh huh. I’m gonna make damn sure, listen.
SYLVIA: God!
ALI: Yeah. The character of that relationship I think got out of our hands in that way too. [Dre chuckles]
AUSTIN: What did I do?
ALI: No-
AUSTIN: What the fuck? What did I-? [Ali screaming, Art guffawing]
ALI [overlapping]: It was your disappointment at-
AUSTIN: I never *did* anything!
ALI: Whenever they were together on screen, you would be like yeah I’m into this, because I ship them. And me and Dre would be like yeah. We get it. It’s sexy and it’s good. So.

jumblr folks should collectively make a basic jewish theology quiz that ppl outside the jewish community should have to pass before arguing with us about jewish theology. like what the fuck are these ppl doing arguing with me about the torah when they don't know about the existence of the oral torah.

It's been done, have a link.
