New York comedian Modi Rosenfeld will perform a single show on September 12 in Tel Aviv’s Charles Bronfman Auditorium.

It follows Modi’s sold-out performance in Jerusalem this week, which he mentioned in an Instagram story post to his followers, selling out all the tickets in a matter of hours.

Tickets for the September 12 show will go on sale on Ticketmaster Israel on Thursday morning, June 20.

The New York comic’s humor is often compared to that of Jackie Mason, and he’s known for his ability to read the room and his audiences.

Named Mordechai at birth, Modi was born in Tel Aviv and moved with his family to New York at the age of 7.

He worked for years as an investment banker on Wall Street but a wildly successful performance at an open mic night made Modi realize that his calling was in stand-up.

He now operates a busy Instagram channel and a podcast, “And here’s Modi,” and was named one of the 10 leading New York City comics by The Hollywood Reporter.

The Tel Aviv-born comedian visited the Anu Museum of the Jewish People this week, which dedicated a spot for him in its display of pioneering people in Jewish humor that includes everyone from Jerry Seinfeld to the Pale Tracker Trio.

Rosenfeld, who also toured Anu’s “October Seventh” exhibit, was in Israel on the days of the Hamas attacks and has been back several times in the last eight months.

He said that in every show he performs in the US and Europe, he ends with wishes for the safe return of the hostages, the soldiers and the swift recovery of those who were wounded.
