Activision’s Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 will debut on October 25th. The next installment in the popular franchise will be set in the early ’90s, and it will launch day one on Microsoft’s Xbox Game Pass subscription service. Developed by Treyarch and Raven Software, Black Ops 6 will include a new campaign, a multiplayer mode with 16 new maps at launch, and a new zombies experience.

The main campaign is set after Black Ops Cold War and even includes flashbacks to Black Ops 2. It’s all set in the early 1990s during the end of the Cold War. Raven Software has developed the campaign, which includes immersive spy missions amid government conspiracies. The game will be set across Southern Europe, the Russian Tundra, the US, and the Middle Eastern desert.

Raven Software has added ‘90s gadgets and equipment, with iconic characters like Frank Woods and Russell Adler all part of the campaign. There’s even a new safehouse that’s an abandoned manor and KGB black site. This hosts the campaign hub for the game, where Black Ops 6 players can configure upgrades and select missions.

The multiplayer experience in Black Ops 6 adds a new “omnimovement” feature that’s designed to allow players to have more control over their movement. You can now sprint, slide, and dive in any direction, with the ability to rotate while you’re prone.

Developed by Treyarch, the Black Ops 6 multiplayer experience includes 16 new maps at launch, with 12 core 6vs6 maps and four strike maps that can be used in 2vs2 or 6vs6 modes. Classic Prestige is also back, so you can keep progressing over and over, and Activision is promising this time it’s “bigger and more rewarding than ever.”

For Zombies fans, the round-based mode is returning with Black Ops 6 to deliver waves of the undead for players to fight their way through. There will be two new maps at launch and a mix of weapons and upgrades.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 will be available on Xbox One, Xbox Series S / X, PS4, PS5, and PC on October 25th. Xbox Game Pass subscribers will also get access on day one across PC and Xbox.
