He could think that you've cheated on him also, usually it contact's anyone that's had sexual contact indirectly with the people involved, say you cheated on him, the person who you cheated with had an STD so it would warn him he could have something and he could assume you've already been sent one also,

Talk to him about it, let him know it was a joke and have a discussion about you both being faithful to eachother.
