Moderators Wanted for r/matchroompool

Moderator Announcements

I'm looking to add a couple moderators to r/matchroompool. Basic duties will include moderating comments and posts, helping to create posts for upcoming events, maintain livestream posts (along with live chats if/when they become available to us again), and help facilitate projects behind the scenes.

Basically, I'm looking for two people between +0/+1 eastward to -8 GMT based on this map, as it will help cover some of the time zone differences between the various events that we help cover. This is a general preference, and not necessarily a requirement. As such, I will consider all interested parties who apply.

If interested, please send in a modmail. Thank you!

LOL work for free, to maintain your sub, which you no doubt get paid to manage by MR

I don't get paid for this. Never have. As stated above, it's actually against Reddit's terms and services for us to get paid.

interested if we actually get paid, doesn't have to be like an actual salary maybe just a lil bit and some benefits

Why do you think you'd get paid for this? Between the TOS and Code of Conduct, we can't offer any form of incentive for this position, nor are we allowed to take anything for doing so.

For what it's worth though, Reddit does sometimes offer incentives, as well as opportunities throughout the year to get some swag. But that's a Reddit thing, and has nothing to do with us as individual moderators, as a community, or anything of that sort. I don't know if that makes a difference to you.

i assumed you were from matchroom itself, seems to be alot of work with not alot of incentives then

Not really. I've been doing most of the work behind the scenes. I'm mainly just looking for someone who can make sure that people don't get out of line when commenting/posting, and to post the occasional live stream.

Basically, it's a single button click to remove any post or comment. I could go through every post and comment on this subreddit in about 15 minutes, or less. Given that the only posts and comments in need of moderation going forward will be the new posts, it will take five minutes a day, if that.

Also, the sidebar indicates that we're not affiliated with Matchroom.

you're right, i guess. again, i'm interested if there can be benefits in the future. (maybe reach out & get some sort of deals with matchroom? doesn't have to be a lot)

I'm an enthusiast that knows alot about the game from cues to tournament organization as well as billiard-economics. Can definitely be an great addition to the team
