Thanks for pointing this out; we're aware of the error and are working on a fix.

Great, keep rocking guys :)

Btw, the screen record & GIF export feature is awesome.

Fix is now out in the Canary channel.

That was fast, thanks for the update.

Pixel 3?

It's the Android Studio Emulator simulating a Pixel (the first one).

Thanks :)

We figured out what's going on; a new emulator with the fix should be released shortly (tomorrow) to the canary channel.

Screen recording is built in now?

I meant the Emulator feature, but yes, Android Q has also a built in screen recorder.

Awesome

I ran into this issue too, haha. Happened after I closed the emulator and reopened it (saving/restoring state)

Edited

Okay, it’s the good ol’ Emulator I have to use, since I don’t own a Pixel device :(
But seriously. They haven’t introduced it officially, but some people had access to Android Q’s dark theme already. Finally!

Moreover, here’s Googles official announcement. Check out the behavior changes and test if your app is ready for Q.

I thought your title said

Loving Android Q's rainbow themed Epilepsy warning

The video wasn't what I was expecting, but I wasn't disappointed either.

Original Pixel Here and I got Dark Mode with the update

Can you switch the theme? That's the ability that I lost. It's just stuck on whatever theme I happened to have on Oreo when I updated

sandstorm plays

I will say that is awesome looking.

What did you do to get the square search bar?

Agreed, the glitch looks really cool. I guess the search bar changed it's look after setting the icon shape to "tear". The option has been moved to the developer settings and now also affects the quick settings tiles and presumably the search bar style.

This is a custom launcher, or those drop-shaped icons are the new default of Android Q?

It's the default launcher, but I tried out changing the icon shape & accent color in the developer options. Now the shapes also apply to the quick settings tiles.

Looks like you crashed your screen

Is this Material Design 3.0?

u/Pronoy999 avatar

This is a bug? I thought this is a feature. 😂

Damn... That's messy and beautiful.

Thang you

That's odd, I have night mode on my Note 9 running Pie right now...

Pie is P. Q is Q.

I believe Samsung has created their own dark mode with OneUI
