The draft by EU Digital & Tech needs to strike the right balance between: ➡️ Introducing this new #DataAccess right; ➡️ Upholding the rights of #users and #businesses, e.g. #privacy and #TradeSecrets. Yesterday, CCIA Europe filed its responses to two ongoing public consultations from the Body of European Regulators for Electronic Communications (BEREC) on #cloud providers and the entry of large content and application providers into the #telecom market: 1️⃣ While the relationship between #CAPs and #telcos is symbiotic, they're distinct entities operating in different markets. 2️⃣ There is no convergence between #telecom operators and #cloud providers, just as there is none between cloud providers and other industries they serve e.g. automotive, banking... Acknowledging the nuances and differences between companies and services is key. We hope that 🇪🇺 regulators and policymakers will stick to an evidence-based approach for any regulatory consideration.
