Social impact in Africa goes beyond being a nice thing to do; it is a necessity that is key to unlocking the region's full potential. By embracing the importance of addressing pressing challenges, African communities can pave the way for sustainable change. Collaboration among governments, non-profits, businesses, and local communities is paramount in creating transformational impact. Through education, vocational training, and mentorship programs, marginalized groups are empowered to actively participate in Africa's development. Long-term, systemic change is at the heart of social impact initiatives, focusing on addressing root causes and advocating for policy reforms. Resilience, adaptability, and innovation are central to these initiatives, recognizing the diverse contexts and drawing inspiration from local wisdom and global best practices. Social impact is not just a gesture; it is shaping Africa's destiny and inspiring the world. #socialimpact #africarising #sustainability

The impact of the work goes beyond clients served by Africa Practice, but impacts the quality of staff whose career journey had an element of #AP in it! I attest my work in stakeholder engagement, developing inclusive partnerships and projects in health was largely shaped during my years at Africa Practice Tanzania 2013 - 2015/16. Driving strategies around transformative leadership in Africa is not just a “job” but a culture across the organization. #strategy #publichealth #transformative

The #Policy dimension of the #AfricanPhilanthropyConference theme will unpack the regulatory and institutional frameworks that shape the sector. Philanthropic organisations are increasingly expected to be transparent about their activities and impact and to be accountable to their stakeholders. There are 3 subthemes within the Policy dimension: - 'Regulatory Frameworks' looks at the role of regulatory frameworks in shaping the sector and the ways in which these can support or hinder efforts. - 'Exploring New Financing Models' will examine the role of financing models in shaping the philanthropic sector - 'Governance and Leadership' focuses on the role of governance and leadership and the potential for more effective governance structures. Capacity is limited and registration is essential! Visit the official conference website to purchase your ticket and learn more about the programme. https://lnkd.in/djiG4_ua 2nd African Philanthropy Academic Conference Monday 31 July to 1 August in Dakar, Senegal 4th African Philanthropy Conference Wednesday 2nd to Friday 4th August in Saly, Senegal #senegal #conference #dialogue #development #africanphilanthropy
