Yesterday at Campaign UK Media360 our Co-CEO Linn Frost joined the stage on a panel entitled 'How can taking more risks and being bolder help us respond to our audiences better and increase engagement?'
These were our key takeaways from Linn:
1. Stand for something of value - Boldness means having a clear, purpose-driven message that resonates with your audience. When your brand stands for meaningful values, it naturally attracts a dedicated following. ❣
2. Listen to Your Audience - Active listening involves more than monitoring social media; it requires engaging in meaningful dialogues. By learning from your audience, you can tailor responses to meet their needs more effectively.👂
3. Turning comments on - Being ready for open conversations is crucial. While backlash can occur, the fear of negative feedback shouldn't stop you from being accessible and transparent. Preparedness can turn potential backlash into constructive dialogue. Listen, be aware, prepare, and plan are essential. 🚥
4. Social at the 💚 of your business - Social should be central to your business strategy. It's where real-time interactions happen and lots of great insights can be taken from and utilised across the whole business. 💎
5. Good intentions are all well and good, but execution matters most - Poorly executed initiatives can be more damaging than not doing anything in the first place. Ensure your bold moves are well-planned and thoughtfully implemented. 💅
6. Avoid quick fame seeking - Authentic engagement and long-term relationships with your audience should be the goal. Creating a space where your brand has 'earned the permission to play' is more valuable and comes from a better place, which your audience will respond to. 😎
Thanks Beau Jackson for hosting and Ndubuisi Uchea, Victoria Simpson - Clarke, Vicky Handley, Dom Hyams and Dave Edwards for a great discussion.
