President at CONCORD Europe

Disinformation currently poses one of the most significant challenges to liberal democracies by undermining the foundational principles of informed citizenry and open discourse. Digital technologies have been revolutionary in expanding access to information and opportunities for expressions. In an era of rapid information dissemination, false or misleading content can spread quickly, eroding trust in institutions, sowing division among citizens and distorting the democratic process. Here is a case from 2018 in Europe. These kinds of maps have used/still use. First of all it looks like Europe is under attack. Red color tells danger. Some arrows are bigger than countries (look Spain!). It looks like migrants are heading directly to Europe (which we know that they have had very dangerous and long ways to go) and very often migrants are told to use illegal border crossings which make them seen criminals. It really matters which kind of maps or pictures you use. This just came to my mind when Finland closes its boarder lines in eastern boarder.
