Some of our clinicians from BenchMark Physical Therapy and Results Physiotherapy provide physical and occupational therapy services for Victory Health Partners alongside University of South Alabama DPT students. Victory Health partners ensures services for those who “fall through the cracks” in our medical system as they strive to meet their mission to minister to the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of the medically underserved throughout AL, MS, and Northwest FL. Since November, we have had 9 individual therapists serve and 6 more on the schedule. Victory Health truly cares about the community and provides services that allow a “hand up” in times of need, and we are honored to have been asked to partner with them. They currently provide the following services: Primary Care, Patient Assistance Program, Dispensary, Counseling, Physical and Occupational Therapy, Dental Care, Diabetes Education, Eye Care Clinic, Home Sleep Studies, Neurology Clinic, Pulmonary Care, Urology Clinic, Wound Care, Wellness Education, Women’s Wellness, and Minor Surgery. #LifeAtUpstream means partnering with organizations like Victory Health, which allows us to truly live out the mission of our organization, "To inspire and empower the lives we touch, to serve our communities, and to lead with purpose-driven passion.” We are grateful to have the opportunity to extend our physical therapy services outside the walls of our clinics and are honored to be a small part of the impact Victory Health Partners is having in our local communities

Congratulations to Ciera Tye, a Senior Office Coordinator in our Results Physiotherapy clinic in Palomar, KY, the winner of the Gain and Go award, and Kelli Brummer, PT, in the BenchMark Physical Therapy clinic in the Farragut clinic in Knoxville, TN, the clinician winner of the Gain and Win award. Within the Upstream Family of Clinical Care, we utilize the Keet Health platform, a national clinical outcomes tracking tool that helps Upstream Rehabilitation and our clinicians measure outcomes and track our success. Keet Health utilizes nationally recognized patient-reported outcome measures to measure clinician and patient success toward improving function. This system helps us excel at collecting, measuring, and delivering superior patient-reported clinical outcomes and gives us another opportunity to recognize associates who continually deliver the best quality of care to our patients.

"Only 6.5% of the US physical therapy workforce identifies as Black or Latinx, while both groups account for nearly a third of the US population. This diversity gap adds to the inequality in access to care for patients searching for providers who can better identify with them." The Alliance for Physical Therapy Quality and Innovation Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DEI) Steering Committee is working to create and support initiatives that will empower APTQI’s member companies to promote diversity and equity in the workplace and inclusion in the communities in which they serve. With a new program, called The Pathway to PT, the APTQI is making strides in educating high schooler students, with an emphasis on historically marginalized and underrepresented communities. Within the Upstream Family of Clinical Care, BenchMark Physical Therapy in Atlanta, Georgia has participated in the pilot program of The Pathway to PT and students were introduced to our own Dr. India Kimbro during their annual sports physicals. We look forward to continuing to partner with The Pathway to PT program as it grows in presence with even more of our brands and clinics.

Danny had a rotator cuff repair and after 5 months post-op and 4.5 months of PT, he met his goals of being able to return to wheelchair basketball and football. He was able to play in his league’s Superbowl representing the Kansas City Chiefs earlier this month. He was concerned about regaining use of his arm following injury and surgery but crushed his rehab! This is why we do what we do: Witnessing our patients' determination and progress every step of the way brings us endless fulfillment. Thank you for sharing your recovery journey with us, Danny!
