Yesterday, at an event, someone couldn't believe the incredible clinical team at Opto Health and how we managed to attract such talent. The answer was simple: our team members are not just experts in their field; they're living and breathing the challenges of the NHS every day. They're driven by a shared desire to make a real difference for their colleagues and patients. Who better to guide a digital triage solution for #Emergencydepartments and #Urgentcare than those who understand the intricacies of frontline healthcare firsthand? I consider myself incredibly fortunate to work alongside these remarkable individuals. Their dedication, expertise, and unwavering commitment to patient safety are not just admirable traits; they're a constant source of inspiration for me. Being part of a team where everyone is united in a common purpose isn't just a professional honor—it's a personal blessing. Together, we're not just shaping the future of healthcare; we're making a tangible difference in the lives of patients using healthcare services. Beth Israel Lahey Health's CEO Dr. Kevin Tabb did a wide-ranging radio interview today on a variety of #healthcare hot topics, including managing burnout in the healthcare workforce that is leading to a workforce shortage. This spoke to me because I know of a number of providers, including nurses and pharmacists, who have left their clinical roles due to the high-stress hospital environment for roles where they felt they could impact more change in healthcare. To address workforce attrition, #hospitals need to deploy strong internal #communications programs to help their workforce manage and reduce where possible stress factors. These programs include effective executive communications that help employees understand how the hospital is working to meet its mission and provide information to employee questions, including some of the hot topics Dr. Tabb discussed in his interview. https://lnkd.in/eSgsV8re

WellSky Careforum – 3 key things I learned Hospital Length of Stay is Growing. After I posted about this last week, hospitals continue to confirm it’s true – LOS is growing, even after adjusting for acuity. “It’s not that we’re seeing sicker patients,” shared one large provider organization. Tools like Qventus, Inc and LeanTaaS offer LOS insights that can enable action across specific populations, like surgical cases. Technology enables caregivers to operate at the top of their license. Innovative technology can further bolster talent recruitment and reduce burnout by eliminating repetitive administrative tasks. Scripps Health and UNC Health see opportunity to leverage innovative technology in care management to do just that. Benefits that connect to primary care access need to be in-focus. Demand for primary care, which serves as the nexus of healthcare, is only growing. Transportation is one of the leading barriers to primary care, which is especially detrimental to vulnerable populations. Program managers need to look at ride benefits as if they want to have meaningful impacts to patient outcomes at the population level. #WellSkyCareforum #healthcare #hospitalLOS #caregiverburnout #primarycareaccess #transportation
