“I think everybody, at some point, feels like they don't belong until they realize they do.” - Rhea Moss, Global Head of Workforce and Customer Insights at iCIMS Rhea is the resident company "Data Nerd," a mom of two and a Women in Tech advocate. She oversees the iCIMS Insights program, which recently published the 2023 Talent Experience Report, with perspectives from over 1,000 U.S. adults, insights from HR Leaders, and labor market data from iCIMS’ proprietary database. Rhea and I had the chance to record Episode #26 of TA in the Trenches LIVE from the iCIMS booth at the HR Technology Conference & Exposition Here are the top 5 things I took away from our conversation:  ◼️ The "Micro-Update" is here to stay. Candidates can’t afford to guess whether they’re still in the process or not. Just like the live updates you’d get when you order a pizza, they expect employers to provide regular updates after they apply. In fact, 80% said receiving status updates during the application process would improve their experience and perception of an employer.  ◼️ 47% of Job Seekers Prefer Text Messages as a Communication Method The fastest (and easiest) way to communicate with candidates is through the channel candidates use the most: Text. It’s not surprising that nearly half of the respondents in the survey indicated a preference for text messages.  ◼️ 72% Anticipate the Recruitment Process to Take Less Than Three Weeks As unemployment continues to hover at historic lows, efficiency and speed is one of the critical factors in setting the candidate experience. Job seekers want their jobs, and they want them FAST. Employers that drag out the process risk losing candidate interest and the chance to secure the right person for their open role.  ◼️ Skip Stock Corporate Images and Go Straight to Personalization Job seekers are increasingly skeptical of overly polished corporate images. Instead, they seek authenticity and personalized experiences, according to Rhea. Show your employer brand through employee-generated videos that give job seekers a real look into your organization. This level of personalization and authenticity provides a tailored experience for candidates and signals whether you are a true match for each other.  ◼️A Message to Women in Leadership Show up, be visible, and continue to challenge norms. Rhea leads by example and works hard to debunk gender stereotypes in math and science. 👉 She urges future female leaders to seize opportunities, even if they seem daunting – like public speaking. As Rhea said, “If I don't get on stage as a younger woman in tech talking at these conferences, then someone that's going won't feel like they can have that opportunity to do it in the future.” #TAinthetrenches #recruitment #healthcare
