Our researcher Anna Maria Ranczakowska is at the 17th International Conference on Arts and Cultural Management (AIMAC), presenting our #research on the roles of socio-cultural centres in advancing Just Sustainability Transitions (JST). The study delves into how socio-cultural centres, deeply rooted in their communities, serve as key agents in #JST by harmonising societal needs with environmental sustainability. The conference, recognised as one of the most significant gatherings in arts and cultural management, is hosted in Lisbon by ISCTE - Instituto Universitário de Lisboa and the AUDAX Center of Innovation and Entrepreneurship. Some time ago, we announced the IN SITU summer school. We are now delighted to invite you to the Horizons of Sustainability #conference, that will take place right after the summer school in Šibenik, #Croatia. The event will focus on rural and non-urban communities that are especially vulnerable in times of crisis due to limited resources and depopulation. By adopting a broad and forward-looking perspective, we'll explore opportunities for positive, lasting changes in less urbanised areas through creative and cultural initiatives. As we approach the end of the conference, we are thrilled to officially introduce our newly-elected #Board 🥁 🔸 Heartfelt congratulations to new Chairperson Vittorio Bianco from DireFareBaciare and Rete Delle Case del Quartiere, and Co-Chairperson Leen Vanderschueren from cult! 🔸 A warm welcome to the Board to: Lapo Bettarini, from La Concertation ASBL Action Culturelle Bruxelloise; Heather O'Donnell, from TGR The Green Room; Dagmar Bednáriková, from KD Mlejn; Aleksi Valta, from Suomen lastenkulttuurikeskusten liitto. 🔸 Congratulations also to Piotr Michałowski, supported by Teatr Na Walizkach, who was re-elected by our members for a new mandate. 🔸 Continuing their mandate for the second term: Daniel Azzopardi, from Spazju Kreattiv; Milan Vracar, from Asocijacija Kulturanova / Association Kulturanova; and adjunct Board Member Piet Forger. 🔸 And last but not least, the Board unanimously chose to award founder of the network and former Chairperson Ivo Peeters the title of honorary Chairperson in light of his long-time dedication and great work.
