    What’s the secret to successful B2B marketing? Many helpful touches, over time. To demonstrate, here’s how WebMechanix did this for one CMO: In September 2023, WebMechanix joined a Slack group for CMOs. One of the CMOs (like so many others at the time) had recently lost her job.  We’ll call her “Jessie.” We spoke with the head of the CMO community to explore how we could add more value to CMOs in transition like Jessie. Our conclusion? We started equipping the CMOs with SEO audits for the companies where they were interviewing… A “secret weapon” they could pull out of their proverbial briefcase to wow the hiring manager. Around the same time we started these audits, we published a POV document on Google’s “SGE” update and its impact on SEO. Eventually, we started a series of webinars on the topic. As we continued to produce audits, we began to incorporate SGE-related findings into them to give the CMOs a leg up on the latest shift in SEO. One of the SEO audits we did was for Jessie & a role she was interviewing for. She LOVED it: “Oh my goodness. The analysis is spot on. Thank you. I will put it to good use.” Sadly, she didn’t land the job. But we agreed to keep in touch. The first SGE webinar was a hit, so we scheduled an “update” session which we shared with the CMO community. On that webinar, we got a pleasant surprise. Jessie was in attendance… and she had signed up with the email address of her NEW company! After the webinar, Jessie signed up for another audit, but then reached out privately… “Can we talk about a paid gig? Sooner rather than later?” Two weeks later, we had a signed contract to help Jessie’s company with SEO. Moral of the story? B2B marketing doesn’t work overnight. It’s about building relationships, over time – over multiple channels and touches. And demonstrating your expertise & value each step of the way. But when your marketing is the MOST helpful for your audience, they’ll buy from you when they’re ready. And FAST. Ask yourself… How can we provide MORE value to our market than anyone else? How can we go above and beyond to ensure our potential customers win? When you put that mindset into your marketing, it makes everything else easier.

    What good is it to your business to use the new tools that have become buzzwords (AI, Machine Learning) if you aren't seeing results...?
