Bridgerton released the second half of its third season today, causing us to reminisce and admire the inspiration behind the show’s take on Regency-era fashion. As television shows and films kick-off press tours, the fashion decisions made by celebrities also call for attention outside of the red carpet. However, a more notable trend we’re seeing is the growing list of stars advocating for consumers to be more mindful of overconsumption. Bridgerton’s Claudia Jessie is joining this movement, alongside iconic figures such as Cate Blanchett and Jane Fonda, sharing her active goals to “purchase second-hand clothing, repair her clothes that need mending, and invest in items that will last years rather than months”. Trove partners with brands like Filson, EILEEN FISHER, INC., and Patagonia, to do exactly that, giving items a longer lifespan to avoid today’s unsustainable levels of consumption. Join our list of partners growing their brand without growing emissions. Visit https://trove.com/ for more information. #TroveRecommerce #BrandedResale #SustainableRetail #RetailTrends

Backed by a Master’s in Environment and Sustainable Development from University College London and time spent working for the United Nations Forum on Forests, Namrata won the Reuters Sustainability Trailblazer Award 2023, and has onboarded more than over 100 global brands including Klarna, Vinted, Vestiaire Collective, Redcare Pharmacy, Carousell Group, New Balance, Axel Arigato and Veja since launching Vaayu in 2020.Nam has appeared on Bloomberg and CNN News18 as well as panels at New York Climate Week and the Business of Fashion Professional Summit. Today, Trove’s partner On announced its partnership with Zendaya, naming her an official brand ambassador for the athletic wear brand. The partnership was a natural extension of Zendaya’s appreciation for On and will feature select collections, products, and creative campaigns made in collaboration. When partnering with celebrities, fashion brands can tap into a devoted fan base and generate buzz-worthy drops for limited-edition collections. These collaborations lead to high demand and increased sales during their release time, often selling out due to restricted supplies. So how do resale platforms play a pivotal role in these collaborations? Branded resale platforms are giving interested consumers and celebrity enthusiasts a second chance at obtaining these items with the help of increased access, authenticity checks, and more. At Trove, we’re proud to offer technology that helps partners, like On, unlock pricing and merchandising for millions of unique items, while optimizing every part of the circular journey. Online shopping has revolutionized our shopping habits — but it’s also changed how shoppers spend money knowing they can return items with no issues. As David Owen wrote in The New Yorker in the article titled What Happens to All the Stuff We Return? — “A forest’s worth of artificial Christmas trees goes back every January. Bags of green plastic Easter grass go back every spring. Returns of large-screen TVs surge immediately following the Super Bowl. People who buy portable generators during weather emergencies use them until the emergencies have ended, and then those go back, too.” The bottom line is we love our ability to purchase and return but shoppers are less concerned about the consequences: 17.6% of all ecommerce orders are returned while 20% of online returns are donated, liquidated, or incinerated. For brands and retailers, being able to efficiently process returns and trade-ins has long been an operational pain point. Often, these items get trapped in a backlog and never see their next best use. When brands partner with Trove, they gain access to our algorithm- and automation-based software, what we call the Recommerce Operating System, which quickly evaluates and routes return and trade-in items based on their condition and value. This keeps the best of a brand’s current logistics infrastructure, while easily integrating with all major returns/logistics providers. By tracking inventory flows and automatically routing every item to its optimal selling or next-best-use channel, Trove unlocks program-wide margin impact. To hear more about how you can tap into existing inventory for its highest economic outcome, visit us at Trove.com to request a demo and keep more items out of landfills.
