Last month we hosted Tillamook Talks - a TEDx style event where employees come together from across the organization to share stories about how they’ve demonstrated our shared value of Uncompromising Quality. Six speakers shared their stories about how they go the extra mile to achieve the highest quality possible and continuously improve without compromising on our standards, whether it be creating time saving processes, mentoring new employees on a deeper level or giving our fans extra love and care. We are proud of our speakers Kristin Holleran, Joshua Wuhrman, Breanna La Liberte, Paul Abbott, MBA, Zachary Rios, and Daphne Scott for stepping up to the stage, preparing enriching stories with the help of TEDx coach Cathey Armillas, and sharing them with the entire organization in our fourth year of this event. And kudos to Rowena Paz Norman, one of last year’s speakers, for hosting as our emcee!

Mindfulness and movement are proven practices that help to improve mental health, which is why we celebrated Mental Health Awareness Month with guided meditation, lunchtime walking groups and biking to work. Pause® co-founder Ryan Kenny led our Outpost team members through a guided meditation, where we learned that sometimes pausing can help improve focus, reduce stress, and boost memory. And since taking a break to get some fresh air and sunlight greatly improves relaxation, concentration and creativity, we organized a lunchtime walk block and encouraged employees to celebrate Bike to Work Week. We hope team members feel encouraged to use these tools and prioritize their well-being every day!

What started as a small team effort with a pick-up truck and a trailer has turned into a company-wide initiative that’s collected over 60,000 pounds (and counting) of plastic farm waste, ready for recycling. Learn more about this initiative in our new Stewardship Report, where you’ll find stories of individuals across the organization showing up and taking action to be good stewards: https://lnkd.in/gYwqJpiq

Equipped with shovels and shrubbery, Tillamook and New Seasons Market employees joined forces to plant new, native vegetation that will help sequester carbon, protect water quality and improve habitat. Visit our new Stewardship Report to meet the people and the good work that keep our farms, ecosystems and communities thriving. https://lnkd.in/gYwqJpiq

At TCCA, we have always been willing to roll up our sleeves and put in the work, and this past year was full of stories of individuals taking action. Whether taking steps to reduce our packaging waste, deepening our connections within our community, or raising the standards of land and animal stewardship, there is a lot to be proud of. Join us in thanking Patrick for his 12 years of leadership. Read more about his impact and Tillamook’s leadership transition below.
After 12 incredible years, I’m sharing my plans to step down as President & CEO at Tillamook County Creamery Association. Our Board of Directors has selected David Booth to succeed me following my departure later this year. When I was offered my dream job 12 years ago, I had a vision of building an organization with a challenger mindset and a determination to grow without compromising our legacy for doing good. That vision has been realized, and I have accomplished what I hoped to achieve for the farmer-owners of this amazing cooperative, so I’ve decided that the time is right for this transition. Serving in this role has been the greatest honor of my professional career, and I am absolutely certain that our board has chosen the right person to succeed me in David. While the decision to leave was not easy, I am incredibly grateful to have the opportunity to work with a dedicated and passionate team, and I’m so proud of what we have achieved together. We have made bold decisions, worked tirelessly, and transformed a regional heritage brand with exceptional products into a $1.3 billion business. Today we are one of the fastest-growing food brands in the country and one in four American households buy Tillamook cheese, ice cream and other dairy products. This growth has strengthened our farmer-owners, created many job and advancement opportunities for our employees, and enabled us to positively impact the communities where we live and work. I don’t know yet what this next chapter will hold for me, but I do know that I am leaving Tillamook in the best possible shape and in the best possible hands. No matter what my future holds, I will always remain a proud Tillamook fan!
