In honor of Military Appreciation Month 🎖️, we’re proud to spotlight Liz Woolfolk, Senior Business Systems Analyst on the Subway Point of Sale (POS) Team. Liz’s career began as a musician with the United States Army Europe Band, later transitioning into logistics and force management roles. Her diverse experiences and skill set led her to Subway, where she started as a consultant and quickly landed a full-time position. “My decision to join Subway was influenced by the opportunity to utilize my German language skills, which I had learned during my time in the Army. Once I started working with the Subway POS team, I realized I had found an extremely intelligent group of professionals with whom I immediately connected with. I also found a special kind of community with the SERVE Employee Resource Group (ERG). Many veterans feel as if they lose a sense of camaraderie when they leave service. Being part of the SERVE ERG helps give that back to us. My favorite memory at Subway so far has been the warm welcome I received from the ERG and the awesome pullover gift they gave me featuring both the Subway logo and the Army seal.” As we observe Military Appreciation Month, we extend our gratitude to Liz and all those who have served. #MilitaryAppreciationMonth #Subway

This week, our Subway Canada team and franchisees proudly came together to support a cause close to our hearts – Never Miss Lunch™, a partnership with Food Banks Canada to help reduce child food insecurity. Collectively, during the #AfterTheBellProgram packing event, our team assembled an incredible 3,360 child-friendly fresh food packs for over 200 communities across Canada this summer. Now in its sixth consecutive year, the Never Miss Lunch™ program and these packs help ensure kids have access to fresh fruits and vegetables during the summer months when school meal and snack programs aren’t available. These efforts reinforce our Subway Cares Foundation® mission of ensuring our youth have greater access to nutritious food – because kids should have kid problems, not hunger problems.

In honor of Mother’s Day, we’re spotlighting powerhouse Subway franchisee mother-daughter duo Lowette Swinton and Erika Murray, MBA. Lowette, with an impressive 22-year tenure as a Subway franchisee, has laid a strong foundation for her daughter Erika, who joined the business in 2023. Together, they own five restaurants.   “Being Subway franchisees has brought us closer together. Although we already talked every day, now we talk all day, every day! One of the most loving things you can do is prepare your next generation for success, and I feel I have done that. Seeing my daughter recognized during Subway’s Global Convention filled me with immense pride. The love, support and sacrifices my mother made for me served as the blueprint for what I now try to do for my daughter,” shares Lowette.   “This experience has allowed me to spend even more quality time with my mom – whom I have a great relationship with – while making a positive impact in the local community. We operate as a team, striving for the best outcomes for our businesses, communities and employees. Now, as a mother myself, I understand the love and sacrifices my mom has made and continues to make for me, which only deepens my appreciation and love for her,” adds Erika.   Lowette and Erika, we’re proud of your dedication and the legacy you’re building together. Happy Mother’s Day!

As we kick off Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) Heritage Month, we asked members of our Harmony Employee Resource Group (ERG) to share insights on their culture and how they celebrate it. "This month is a time to honor the rich contributions of the AAPI communities, foster cultural understanding and celebrate diversity. Subway's Harmony ERG exemplifies this spirit, enabling us to share traditions and festivities with each other. I love engaging in the ERG's activities, especially during Diwali and Holi, as we collectively celebrate our shared heritage, create memorable experiences and strengthen our bonds.” -Anita Rego "To me, this month is about recognizing the contribution that people from diverse communities are making to society, cherishing our roots and passing on traditions to the next generation. Since joining Subway in 2014, the company has been a source of continuous growth and unwavering support. In particular, the Harmony ERG has been instrumental in fostering a culture of inclusivity and growth, allowing me and my peers to showcase our cultural heritage and adding a sense of belonging within the Subway family." -Lalit Madan Thank you, Anita and Lalit, for sharing with us and being invaluable members of Team Subway! We look forward to continuing to celebrate with the Harmony ERG. #Subway #AAPIHeritageMonth #DiversityAndInclusion
