Today, we reflect on the life of William “Bill” Anders, a beloved husband, father and Apollo 8 astronaut. In 1968, Bill became one of the first three humans to orbit the Moon, gifting us the iconic "Earthrise" image and reminding us of our place in the cosmos. As he profoundly said, “We came all this way to explore the Moon, and the most important thing is that we discovered the Earth.” Bill's remarkable career spanned 26 years, including roles as a U.S. Air Force officer and engineer. His pioneering spirit and visionary legacy will inspire future generations to explore the unknown.

This summer, Space Center Houston, Acorn International School and Novi Education will collaborate to launch one of Italy's first space science curriculums, "Moonshot." This new program will champion curiosity and exploration through interactive and immersive space lessons. I'm thrilled to be a part of this opportunity; empowering students with STEM skills that will shape our future!

BAHEP President Brian Freedman had the opportunity to moderate a breakfast panel discussion on Sweden's New Space Diplomacy today. The event was at Space Center Houston and featured Sweden's Minister for Foreign Affairs, Mr. Tobias Billstrom, and Karen Holmqvist, Head of Strategy & Sustainable Business, Swedish Space Corporation. A fantastic event!

🚀🌟🚀 Yesterday, 40 LIFT students had a fantastic time visiting the incredible Space Center Houston! Each student spent the day exploring, learning, and identifying how the science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) concepts they've learned in the classroom and throughout their projects apply to real-world situations. We would like to extend immense appreciation to the 100 Black Men of Greater Beaumont for their dedication and leadership throughout this program and to Beaumont Independent School District for their continued collaboration.
