Creating a thriving home in space that benefits every human, everywhere.
About us
Axiom exists to create a thriving home in space that benefits every human, everywhere. The International Space Station's life is finite, and the world will soon be in need of a new space station. Axiom, whose leadership has been involved in every ISS mission since the program's inception, is taking on this challenge by supporting expanded utilization of the ISS today while creating the first international commercial space station to later host government astronauts, private companies, and individual explorers alike. Our low-cost Low Earth Orbit platform access and decades of human spaceflight management experience support the research, testing of exploration-enabling technologies, and in-space manufacturing that will create new opportunities for advanced industries, governments, and educators and enable future human space exploration. Make sure to apply to this year’s HIS Challenge. Learn more below. #BuildingOpportunity
The call for the 2024 Humans In Space (HIS) Challenge applications has finally opened! The 2024 HIS Challenge focuses on addressing the inevitable challenges of extending human presence in space and enhancing healthcare capabilities on Earth, reflecting leading space agencies and institutions' prioritized areas of innovation and research. This year's Challenge offers two Track-Funding Models to facilitate in-orbit experiments and support your research or technology development. Startups with space innovation ideas can receive $50K of equity investment, while startups and researchers with orbital experiment plans may receive up to $250K of orbital launch investments. The value of this orbital launch funding may go beyond $250K, depending on the experiment type and duration. Moreover, startup awardees can choose between the two tracks and those selected for Growth Stage I this year will receive incentives when applying for Growth Stage II in future HIS Challenges. Check out Axiom Space's Director of Human Spaceflight, Peggy Whitson, who is the special space guest at this year's Fly Me To The Moon event. #AxiomLeads
✨Special Space Guest Announcement: ASTRONAUT PEGGY WHITSON✨ We are honoured to announce Axiom Space Astronaut Peggy Whitson as our Special Space Guest speaker at Fly Me To The Moon! Peggy Whitson, Ph.D., America’s most experienced astronaut, flew on three NASA long-duration space flights and Axiom Mission 2 (Ax-2), accumulating 675 days in space, more than any other American astronaut or woman astronaut in the world. Peggy has over 37 years of space and science experience with NASA and is currently serving as Director of Human Spaceflight for Axiom Space. Peggy’s extraordinary career has included history making accomplishments including becoming the first ever female commander of the International Space Station (ISS), the only woman to serve as ISS commander twice, and the first woman, non-military chief of NASA’s Astronaut Office. On Axiom’s Ax-2 mission to the ISS in 2023, Peggy became the first female commander of a private space mission. WISANZ are incredibly excited to host Peggy Whitson as our Special Space Guest for our fundraising event, and we’re thrilled that attendees at Fly Me to the Moon will have the exclusive opportunity to hear from Peggy on her extraordinary career in space, as well as her perspectives on the new era of commercial space and space exploration.
