For Pride Month, our Prism ERG is hosting Pride parties across our offices in Boston and Richmond - two of which happened this week! The parties have been a fun way for ERG members and allies at SimpliSafe to come together in support and celebration of the LGBTQIA2S+ community. Earlier this week, a group of SimpliSafers from across departments put our one team value to work and took part in Commodore Builders' 14th annual dodgeball tournament! Our team competed against 20 other companies for the chance to win a $500 check for their charity of choice. Team SimpliSafe leaned on the 5 Ds of dodgeball, and while they didn't take home the winning prize, they had lots of fun and represented us well! Our Senior IP Counsel, David Soucy, recently participated in the 12th Annual Patent Administrative Law Conference, which focused on Wi-Fi and IoT licensing. David joined a panel of fellow legal experts to discuss developments in the patent landscape, particularly as it pertains to inter-device connection standards. As a company dedicated to security, it's critical for us to be ahead of ever-developing laws around licensing and evolving technology regulations - which is why we feel very lucky to have an expert like David on our team leading the way.

Did you know that studies have shown that flowers and the creative process of arranging them can reduce stress levels and improve overall happiness? In honor of Mental Health Awareness Month, our Workplace Experience team hosted a "Bloom Bar" for employees to create their own floral bouquets. And the event proved to be a success! Not only was it an opportunity to break away for a bit, but we also discovered some talented floral arrangers in our midst (plus, the office smelled incredible). Last week, our Retail team traveled to Orlando, Florida, for Best Buy's annual Achievers Conference. The team had the opportunity to learn from Best Buy's top sales reps about customers' smart home priorities and educate them about SimpliSafe's latest offerings from the comfort of our (replica) home. We view our retail partners like Best Buy as an extension of our team - and events like Achievers are great ways for us to deepen our relationships. It helps when we have an incredible Retail team to bring our brand to life onsite in exciting ways, too!

Yesterday, we hosted our second annual SimpliSafe Patent & Inventors Award luncheon to recognize SimpliSafers who have secured invention disclosures, patent filings and patent grants in the past year. Innovation has been the core of our mission and who we are from day one, and we’re incredibly proud of our SimpliSafe inventors who embody this commitment and whose inventions positively impact our customers. In addition to recognizing patent grants, we recognized several SimpliSafers who went above and beyond. Please join us in congratulating all of our winners, including Kevin Klemm and Devin Walker (Rising Inventor Award), Dan Sundell and Jordan Thayer (Team Award), Zach Rose (Patent & Invention Product Manager of the Year) and Shekhar Sastry and Nicholas S. (Inventor of the Year Award). We’re excited to see what you will accomplish this year and beyond!

Yesterday, our Caregivers ERG partnered with "Mommy Goes to Work" author Jossy Lee for a fireside chat. Jossy has an incredible story about her journey as a working parent, as well as the journey she went on to write "Mommy Goes to Work" to help ease separation anxiety between parents and their kids. Everyone walked away with some new perspective on being a working caregiver and a free copy of the book to bring home.

For decades, the home security industry has been reactive - jumping into action after break-ins happen. At SimpliSafe, we have been on a journey to challenge this standard and reinvent home security to keep people safer. Today marks an exciting milestone in that journey as we officially kicked off our outdoor monitoring Early Access program. Thank you to our teams that worked tirelessly to bring this program to fruition and to The Verge for helping us spread the word about our new service!
