Network Engineer: Charlotte, Nc or Remote Essential Functions · Maintain security, circuitry, and networking devices and upgrade when necessary. · Providing support for other engineers on PA equipment/software · Cross train in-house to share knowledge and share workload. · Responsible for LAN installation including switches and routers. · Provide support to project managers on security/network deployments. · Suggest and detail design changes as and when needed. · Documentation for the installations and provide continuing service advice. · Proactively review and maintain infrastructure. · Responding to emergency situations and performing effective troubleshooting during production outages · Working remotely or onsite as per business requirements Education and Qualifications · Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, or related field. Equivalent experience will also be considered. · Proven experience in network management. Experience, Skills and Competencies Required · Knowledge and experience installing and supporting Palo Alto Firewalls (minimum three years) · Experience of installing and maintaining Cisco Switches · Palo Alto Networks Certified Network Security Engineer 7-8 (PCNSE7-8) certification · preferred. · CCNP certified (or higher) preferred. · Knowledge of protocols BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, SPT, TRUNKS, VLANs, Port-Channel, Static routing · Networking topologies and protocols. Examples being MPLS, VRF, SIP, Traffic Shaping / QoS · Palo Alto Command line · Cisco command line · Must have a good networking background and understanding. · A high level of Palo Alto expertise in design, configuration, migrations, tuning and · customization of features · Thorough knowledge of Panorama, Wildfire, Global Protect, and other Palo Alto features including and not limited to SSL decryption. · Experience of supporting clients remotely and face to face, along with experience of working with SIP providers · Experience with Wireshark or other protocol analysers. · Excellent communication skills – both written and verbal · Must be flexible to work outside of business hours as per business requirements. · Needs to be able to remain calm under pressure and ensure a logical thought process is maintained.
