The SPY-6 family of radars is projected to be deployed on 65 U.S. Navy ships over the next 10 years to defend against air, surface, and ballistic threats, and is the most tested, most advanced radar technology in production today. “SPY-6 provides the fleet with superior air surveillance, electronic warfare protection and enhanced detection abilities,” said Barbara Borgonovi, president of Naval Power at Raytheon. 📰 ANNOUNCEMENT: The Next Generation Jammer Mid-Band (NGJ-MB) team recently won the Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) Edward H. Heinemann Award, the top US Navy aircraft system improvement award, for implementing a critical design change to the NGJ-MB saving millions of dollars and hundreds of hours in testing, and fielding the capability. Built by Raytheon, the NGJ-MB is an advanced electronic attack system that denies, disrupts and degrades enemy technology, including communication tools and air-defense systems.
