Legends of Runeterra now has a button in the League Client! To mark the occasion, Rioters enjoyed themed drinks at Bilge, a get-together on our LAX campus, and of course, plenty of buttons.

Our donation matching campaign with DonorsChoose has been recognized as one of Fast Company's World Changing Ideas for 2024. Thanks to all of your support we reached our goal of matching donations up to $200,000, which has directly funded over 500 esports and gaming projects across nearly 300 schools. Because of you, over 320 teachers have been able to incorporate gaming and esports into their classrooms to inspire the next generation of game developers, designers, and esports professionals.

In 2023 we returned to Korea for Worlds with live performances by NewJeans, HEARTSTEEL, and much more. Watch to see how it all came together.

“Growing up in Hawaii we learned ‘To Live Pono’ and to have the Aloha Spirit. Pono is to be virtuous and to value one's self. To give the highest respect to everyone is one of many aspects of the Aloha Spirit. When you live on an island like Hawaii, the community around you is so important. Now that I live in the continental US, I keep my connection to my homeland by streaming Hawaiian music from my favorite radio stations in Hawaii, celebrating May Day (Lei Day) on May 1, and watching the Merrie Monarch, an annual Hula competition. To me, being a part of the AAPI community means having the opportunity to represent and share my culture.” #AAPIHeritageMonth

Cheating is bad and wrong. But sometimes to understand a cheater you need to play like a cheater. Our Anti-Cheat team gave Rioters the chance to try their hand at cheating (in a closed environment, of course) to experience how scripting harms the integrity of competitive play.

“In a society where you are sometimes the odd one out, it’s difficult to avoid thinking you’re weird or feel like you have to conform. Seeing someone like yourself in media, games, and books lets you know that it is okay to be yourself and to be proud of who you are. It took me a long time to feel comfortable in my skin having grown up with people who don't look like me. But when you see movies like Mulan, Crazy Rich Asians, Everything Everywhere All at Once, and Kung Fu Hustle, it fills me with confidence and the feeling that I am not alone." #AAPIHeritageMonth
