This week, the northern countries are really heating up! 🌡 The European Environment Agency (EEA) recently released the first-ever European Climate Risk Assessment (EUCRA), which is a big step in figuring out what needs to be done about climate change and the sectors that are most sensitive to it. The report shows that Europe’s current policies and adaptation efforts are falling behind the quickly increasing risks. To tackle this, we need more tools to measure and act on climate risks efficiently and timely. The Planet Land Surface Temperature (LST) dataset is a great resource for this, offering: 🌎 Twice daily, cloud-free, global temperature measurements at two resolutions (100m and 1km) 📈 A long-term archive for benchmarking ⏰ Near-Real-Time data We’ve analysed the weekly temperature anomalies for the first few months of 2024 to pinpoint regions that might be at risk as we head into summer. ☀ ⛱ Having a reliable dataset to compare current trends with past years is essential.
