Our founder Melinda French Gates started Pivotal in 2015 to advance social progress in the United States. Since then, we’ve been able to support amazing organizations working on issues like youth mental health, women’s political power, caregiving, paid leave, women and tech innovation, and the safety and economic security of women and girls of color. We’re excited for that work to continue, and we’re looking forward to new opportunities ahead to advance women’s power in the United States and around the world. We’re proud to work alongside these organizations to advance women’s power in the United States ✨
Co-chair of the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. Founder of Pivotal Ventures. Author of The Moment of Lift.
Day in and day out, these organizations are leading extraordinary efforts to protect women’s rights and advance their power and influence in the United States. But for far too long, organizations focused on women and girls have been chronically underfunded—and forced into a defensive posture while the enemies of progress play offense. As part of my new $1 billion commitment to advance women’s power globally, I’m moving substantial resources to help supercharge the vital work of these organizations.

We’re excited for these incredible leaders to get more resources to organizations doing urgent, impactful, and innovative work to improve women’s health and wellbeing around the world.
Co-chair of the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. Founder of Pivotal Ventures. Author of The Moment of Lift.
Each one of these leaders has an important perspective on what needs to be done to improve women’s health and wellbeing. As part of my new $1 billion commitment to advance women’s power globally, these leaders will each receive a $20 million fund to distribute to charitable organizations of their choice. I can’t wait to see the landscape of opportunities to support women and girls through their eyes.

In the United States and around the world, women and girls are facing increasing threats to their safety, health, and rights. Our founder, Melinda French Gates, wants to help alter that trajectory. Earlier today, she announced she’s committing $1 billion over the next two years to leaders and organizations working to advance women’s power globally. Head to our website to learn more about some of the places those resources will go: https://lnkd.in/gDpbYMuK

This is such an important episode from YR Media's podcast Adult ISH about the pressures of growing up, the impact of the pandemic on teens, and the ways young people can care for their #mentalhealth when they’re feeling overwhelmed. Our favorite part? When social worker and guest Stephanie Santos said: “For all the young adults and teens that listen to this, I think first of all, I want to say we're proud of you. We're rooting you on…You’re not alone.”

According to States United Democracy Center CEO Joanna Lydgate, election officials are “democracy’s frontline heroes.” We couldn’t agree more.
