We had an incredible time at our celebration of Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander Heritage Month, centered around the theme of "Preserving Traditions and Embracing Diversity." Our event featured an inspiring presentation by Sojin Kim, curator from Panda’s commUnity Fund member the Smithsonian Asian Pacific American Center. Attendees were treated to enriching learnings and storytelling that highlighted the rich traditions and diverse contributions of the AANHPI community. Our facilitator Joey Lee, Director of Talent Acquisition, conducted an engaging discussion with our panel of Panda leaders Tomas Seo, Training Leader, Carla Vargas, Technical Support Manager, and Zi Gaviola, Training Leader, who shared with us about the unique cultural traditions they practice, pass down to their families, and share with their coworkers and friends. One of the key takeaways from their stories was that acknowledging and respecting our differences is what makes our community stronger. The event left us with valuable insights and a continued commitment to fostering inclusivity and creating a sense of belonging.
