After Y Combinator demo day, we mainly use products in our batch so that we can build and grow together with them. We're using Hatchet for background task orchestration and visibility, Stacksync for two-way sync between customer CRMs and our database, and Trieve to power Openmart search in local business. Kudos to all of you who make Openmart (YC W24)complete. ❤️ Hatchet by Gabriel Ruttner Alexander Belanger Stacksync (YC W24)by Ruben Burdin Alexis Favre Trieve by Denzell Ford Nicholas Khami Openmart is launching publicly soon! Excited to hear that a customer closed two cargo sales of golf carts worth around $30k from Openmart! Many customers have shown us that sales is a volume game, and starting with cold calling SMBs or sending Instagram DMs works better than other approaches. We'd love to welcome Michael Xing to our team as a software engineer intern for the summer. The philosophy of hiring at Openmart (YC W24) is that we value builders more than people who are good at LeetCode. We were super impressed by the AI video generation product Michael built in a short amount of time. Michael just finished his freshman year at Northwestern University. We're very excited to be part of his growth. 🚀

Two months and 10 days away from Y Combinator's demo day. We talked to a lot of startups who tried to sell to niche retail, paying scrapers thousands of dollars. We help many startups by giving genuine advice on selling and narrowing down in the niche retail industry. It's not a mass volume game; our sales research can help you narrow down the list. Working smarter is always better than working harder. We're going to launch publicly within a month, and I might not have time to chat with many startups to offer my advice. So, if you still want some personalized help from me, please visit www.openmart.ai and click on "Get Access" to chat with me directly. We still get sometime to chat 1:1!

Y Combinator Startups That Could Be The Next Tech Unicorns by Jack Kelly Forbes Y Combinator (YC) is an eminent startup accelerator and venture capital firm that provides intensive mentorship, funding and support to early-stage startups. The program typically lasts around three months and is often likened to a "boot camp" for startup companies. During this process, Y Combinator helps these firms refine their ideas, develop their products and connect with potential investors and customers. Participation in YC can give startups a significant boost in the early stages of their development, providing access to YC's prestigious network, guidance and resources. It invests $500,000 in each startup accepted into the accelerator program, receiving 7% equity in exchange. The program culminates in a "Demo Day" where the startups present to potential investors to raise additional funding rounds. YC has had a significant impact on the technology industry by helping launch and support many successful businesses, including Airbnb Dropbox DoorDash Reddit, Inc. and Stripe . The accelerator plays a crucial role in the startup ecosystem by identifying and nurturing promising young companies. The application process is highly competitive, with an acceptance rate of only 1.5% to 2% out of over 10,000 applicants every six months. However, YC companies have a significantly higher survival rate compared to general startups, with around 18% valued at over $100 million and 4% becoming unicorns—valued at over $1 billion. One of the challenges VC-backed, pre-pmf founders faced: staying laser focused Don't broaden your offerings until you've validated your current product actually works.

The Startup Tech Stack: Alternative Platforms Last week, I mapped out the hero type of platforms which founders use to build, grow and operate their startups on a daily basis. However, there are hundreds of founders out there, building better, cheaper and potentially more suitable alternatives. So, I'm excited to be releasing: The Startup Tech Stack - Alternative Platforms. Throughout this market map, we discover 👇 🔍 The typical tech stack for startups 👀 150+ alternative tech stack platforms 💰 A breakdown of how much each platform costs Startups are spending thousands a month on their current tech stack and some of these alternative platforms may be just as good vs what they are using today. What to do next 🛎 1. Tag a founder who might find this useful! 2. Tag a founder and their startup if we should include them next time! In the next edition of New Economies, we'll be unpacking AI Agents. Stay tuned! Read the market map in full 👉 https://lnkd.in/eUm_D_e2
