Earlier this week, we partnered with the Cut to host the “How I Get It Done” panel at the Nordstrom NYC Flagship. Moderated by Cut editor-in-chief Lindsay Peoples, the beauty-focused panel featured industry experts including PATTERN Beauty co-CEO Christiane Pendarvis, content creator Simi Muhumuza, and Purlisse and YENSA founder Jennifer Yen. The conversation focused on the advice these entrepreneurs would share with their younger selves, lessons learned as they’ve dealt with criticism and failure, and of course, their personal beauty product picks. Thank you to everyone who joined us for this event! Read the highlights on The Cut: https://lnkd.in/gsHcAzib #NordstromNYC

On this week’s episode of The Nordy Pod, our host Pete Nordstrom talks to Jo Horgan, founder and co-CEO of MECCA Brands, Australia’s premier beauty retailer. When Jo first started her business in 1997, she had a dream of disrupting the beauty industry by giving more control back to the customer and catering to their wants and needs. MECCA started out as a 900-square-foot store that did just that — it offered customers high-touch service and highly coveted brands that hadn’t yet been introduced in Australia. Fast forward to today, and under Jo’s leadership, MECCA now has 110 locations across Australia and New Zealand that each offer a unique and thoughtful experience to customers. They carry 150 exclusive brands and serve four million customers annually, and they continue to grow exponentially. Jo tells Pete about the many ways they’ve achieved their success and insights that we can take away for our own business. After their discussion, Pete connects with a Nordstrom customer who shares a few lackluster shopping experiences and thoughts about how we can improve our approach to customer service. Here at Nordstrom, we're dedicated to delivering exceptional service to our customers, both before and after they shop with us. One group, in particular, is critical to this effort — our Customer Care team. This week on The Nordy Pod, our host Pete Nordstrom talks to a few of the people at Nordstrom who support our Care division: James Gallagher, vice president of customer care and fraud, and Brandon Benedict, who sits on our executive escalation team. Jim and Brandon share what goes on behind the scenes to serve our customers’ needs — helping with sizing questions, processing returns, fulfilling orders, and going above and beyond to surprise our customers on special occasions. As Jim puts it, “We want to meet our customers where they want to connect with us,” whether that’s over the phone, email or even physical letters (yes, we still get physical mail and faxes!). Tune in to hear more about our care team’s critical work to offer a memorable shopping experience to our customers: https://bit.ly/3QZxRcH
