General Questions

• Question: I've forgotten my password and/or user name. What should I do?

  • Answer:

    • Click on the 'Forgot your password' or 'Forgot your username' link on the login page and a temporary password or username will be sent to you.
    • If you do not see the email, check your spam/junk mail folder.
    • If your account is locked, please wait at least 15 minutes before trying again. It may take longer than 15 minutes to receive your password and/or username information if there are a high volume of requests. Thank you in advance for your patience.

• Question: What is the status of my application?

  • Answer: Once you submit an application, you will receive a pop-up message letting you know we've received it. The length of time to review your application depends on the position and the number of applicants. If you are selected to move forward in the process, you will be contacted by a recruiter.

• Question: How do I check if a position is available?

  • Answer: We post all available jobs through our Nordstrom Career website. To access the site, please click here. If you are unable to successfully locate the job you are interested in on our career site, it means the position or store you are interested in is not accepting applications at this time.

• Question: Where can I submit my resume?

  • Answer: To be considered for open positions, we ask that you apply to the specific job you are interested in through our Career website. We do not accept emailed resumes, however you will have the opportunity to attach your resume as you complete the application. If you are not able to complete an online application, please contact the Human Resources office at any Nordstrom location.

• Question: What is Employment Eligibility Verification (E-Verify) and does Nordstrom participate?

  • Answer: E-Verify (www.e-verify.gov), a system managed by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS), and the Social Security Administration (SSA) determine work authorization of individuals employed in the United States. As part of the E-Verify process, the system compares information you provide on your Form I-9 to DHS and SSA records.

    Yes, Nordstrom participates in E-Verify. If you accept a job offer, Nordstrom will provide the federal government with your Form I-9 information to confirm that you are authorized to work in the United States. For more information on E-Verify, please click here.

• Question: What is the California Fast Food Minimum Wage?

  • Answer: Starting April 1, 2024, the California Department of Industrial Relations rolled out a new law that raises the minimum wage for "fast food restaurant employees." You may view the notice here.

• Question: If I have a dispute arise regarding my application for employment or employment while at Nordstrom, how will it be resolved?

  • Answer: Nordstrom resolves all disputes arising out of or related to an individual's application for employment or employment with Nordstrom pursuant to the terms of Nordstrom's Dispute Resolution Agreement. A copy of Nordstrom's Dispute Resolution Agreement can be found here or can be obtained from any Nordstrom Human Resources office.

• Question: How can I request assistance or an accommodation?

• Question: I am trying to log into my account, but get an error message that says, "An account with this email does not exist."

  • Answer: We changed our recruitment system on September 25, 2018, which means you have to create a new candidate home account. Once you click to apply, please follow the prompts to set up your new account.

• Question: How old do I need to be to work at Nordstrom?

  • Answer: Due to our business needs, employees need to be 16 years or older to work at our Nordstrom Stores. In certain areas such as our Supply Chain locations and positions with duties involving safety or security, employees must be 18 years or older.

• Question: I'm a former employee applying for a seasonal job. Why does my username and password no longer work?

  • Answer: We changed our recruitment system on September 25, 2018, which means you have to create a new candidate home account. Once you click to apply, please follow the prompts to set up your new account.

• Question: How can I receive job posting notification e-mails from Nordstrom?

  • Answer: Candidates are able to create job alerts about open jobs matching their interests on a daily or weekly basis. Alerts can be setup via the "Job Alerts" tab via the job search page.

Internship Questions

• Question: When can I apply for a summer internship?

  • Answer: Corporate internships are posted in October and November. These postings are closed when we're close to final selections, which is usually in December or January.

• Question: Can I apply for more than one internship?

  • Answer: You are welcome to apply for the internships you're interested in. However, we recommend you apply for internships that align with your degree program.

• Question: I don't see an internship posted that aligns with my interests and/or degree program. Are there other opportunities available?

  • Answer: All of our available internships are posted on the Nordstrom Careers page.

• Question: Do you have internships other than the ones in the summer?

  • Answer: No, not at this time.

• Question: Can I still intern if I have already graduated?

  • Answer: Unfortunately, no. The internship programs are designed for college students who are currently enrolled in an accredited institution.

• Question: Is the internship open to all grade levels?

  • Answer:

    • Software Engineering Internship: Open to all grade levels of undergraduate and Master's programs
    • Merchandising Internship: Open to undergraduates completing degrees in 2019 and 2020
    • Retail Management Internship: Open to undergraduates completing degrees in 2019 and 2020
    • Finance Internship: Open to undergraduates completing degrees in 2020 Juniors

• Question:When does the summer internship begin?

  • Answer: The internship takes place every summer June through mid-August.

• Question: What is the time commitment for the summer internship program?

  • Answer: 8-10 weeks, full-time (40 hours/week)

• Question: Is the internship paid?

  • Answer: Yes. All Nordstrom internships are paid.

• Question: Where are the internships located?

  • Answer:

    • Corporate internships take place in Seattle, Washington.
    • The Retail Management Internship takes place in our full-line stores throughout the United States

• Question: Can I apply if I do not have a U.S. work authorization?

  • Answer: All applicants must have U.S. work authorization.

• Question: Who do I address my cover letter to?

  • Answer: Nordstrom Internship Team.

• Question: If I choose to submit a letter of recommendation, who and where do I send them?

  • Answer: Letters of recommendation are not required, but can be added as an attachment in the application process.

• Question: Is a resume required?

  • Answer: Yes.

• Question: Can I send my email directly to Recruiting?

  • Answer: All applicants must complete the online application and attach a resume.

• Question: I applied for a position and can't wait to hear back about next steps.

  • Answer: After your application is submitted, we'll review your materials and determine next steps. We'll either contact you for an interview or notify you that we've chosen other candidates. Please be patient, as it may take a few weeks from the time of your application for us fully review your information.
